Josh Demuth - Arenacross Champ injured
I shot Josh this weekend at the Texas Off Road Nationals and he was in great form. He apparently was injured today during practice for the upcoming Arenacross season.
Update from his father: 3 broken ribs, both wrists badly broken, broken pelvic bone and collapsed lung. He is in ICU @ John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. Apparently the transmission locked up on a triple @ Oak Hill MX. Pray for Him. Story from TexasMotoCross.com Help Josh Demuth Recover Hello Everyone, As many of you may be aware by now, Josh Demuth (4-time Arenacross Champion) suffered a severely broken wrist, punctured lung, many broken ribs and a few other injuries while practicing for the upcoming Arenacross season. Josh will be in the hospital for many days, and has a long recovery road ahead of him not only physically, but financially. With his Arenacross season now at a halt, his income will be at a standstill. Josh is one of the great personalities in our sport. The "Sheriff", as he is nationally known.... has always smiled, and treated his fans/people great. He has always helped out others with their "Good Causes", whether it was signed jersey donations, making appearances, or other helpful ways requested by many. It would be nice to return some of that moto-love back to him now! EDITED Thank YOU all in advance for your support and prayers! A shot from this weekend.

Josh is out of ICU and in the next level down from it. He is seriously injured and medicated but knew Chris when he went to see him tonight. Keep him in your prayers. We will be going to see him in the next few days.

Josh has always been very kind and inspirational to Dillon. Everytime we were at the same tracks practicing, he would give Dillon pointers and did so, very many times during Arenacross last year.
Our family and friends keep him and his family in our prayers. This is truly a Godly man with strong values. He is one of the riders our children look up to and have learned from. May God wrap his healing arms around you and lift you up!! Diana Terry |

I talked to Josh this morning. He had surgery on both wrists. He had 2 plates and 9 screws out in 1. He is stil having trouble with his lung, it was punctured and will take some time to heal. He is hoping to behealed and back riding soon, he makes his living racing. He is going to do some MX schools until he heals.

Unfortunately Josh had to have his leg amputated from the knee down. Here is the official statement that was just released from Josh about a hour ago on his FB page.
For all my friends and family. As you may know I was involved in a crash in the early part of may. My injuries included a severely compounded right lower leg. For the past several months ive been fighting an infection. Several surgeries and antibiotics could not help my leg heal. I ultimately made the decision to have it amputated below the knee. Now recently out of the hospital, I know the long road that waits ahead of me. For all of your thoughts and prayers, know that all of them are greatly appreciated by me and my family. GOD does not put on us anything we cannot handle and that everything happens for a divine reason. My heart goes out to all of you who are praying and thinking of me. I love you all and hope to see you on two feet again soon. GOD bless you all! The sheriff # 135

Thanks for posting that Cara.
Josh - once again, we are all pulling for you as you travel down this path. Odds are, given your strength, determination and faith that you'll be back on top in record time!!
