Hello all!

My name is Allison, and I'm the wife of Chris White. If you ride in Colorado, especially in the Grand Junction, Montrose, Gunnison area, you've probly heard of Chris. He works on motorcycle suspension thru a business called WR1 Suspension, tho we're currently in the process of changing the name to MVP Suspension. Chris knows no strangers, and has no enemies, that's just how he is.

Anyway, if you're at all plugged into the dirt bike community in Western Colorado, you've probly heard about Chris' accident. Word spread thru our small town like wildfire, and thru our circles of friends all over the country just as fast.

Here are some details: On April 1st, Chris was at an Enduro in Grand Junction, Colorado. He raced, and by all accounts, did pretty well. He didn't fall, or if he did, he didn't mention it. After the race, Chris was working on a bike for a client, apparently started to feel dizzy and dehydrated, and sat down for a minute. Our son Aaron found him a few minutes later, sitting upright in a camp chair, seizing. EMS was called, and he was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. They couldn't do much more than diagnose a stroke there, so they transfered us to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood in Denver, Colorado, which has one of the top stroke centers in the nation. Chris went into surgury at 3 am the morning of April 2nd, and the neurology team performed a basilar artery dissection to remove a clot which had totally blocked the blood flow to his brain. His brain had been without oxygen for aproximately 11 hours.

The surgury went well, and we were transfered to Critical Care. They pulled the breathing tube out on Wednesday, and Chris was taken off the tranquilizers that were keeping him in basically a medically-induced coma and allowed to wake up. He woke up saying ""I've gotta pee!" Over the next 5 days, Chris amazed us all, including the Doctors. They said "It'll take him weeks to monthes to speak clearly, be able to sit up, stand or walk." Chris did all of those in 2 days! It really serves to show just how determined he truely is!

Now, 3 weeks and 2 days after the stroke, we are living at home, climbing stairs all the time (we live in a split-level house), walking, talking, going to church and support meetings, seeing friends, eating without assistance, etc, etc, etc. It seems there's nothing Chris can't do if he puts his mind to it, and he has definitely put his mind to healing!

To anyone who knows Chris personally, feel free to look me up on Facebook and friend me. I'm posting regular updates on Chris' condition thru my page there.

Thank you Rider Down for the support, both in calls and financial aid. The next 6 monthes to a year are going to be hard, but we will see the other side!!!

Ride On friends, Ride On!

Michael was injured during the '03 4-Stroke Nationals, he went down in a muddy corner near the holeshot, that he and his long time racing buddy, Spud Walters, had asked the promoter to scrape, which he did not. The flaggers didn't see him, the rest of the pack was speeding past him, and one of the riders footpegs hit Michael's helmet. He was immediately in a coma and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical center. He remained unresponsive for 4 and a half months, and in hospitals and sub-acute care facilities for 17 months.

Michael has raced since he was 10 years old, aside from his college years, where he received a B.A. in Philosophy. Michael #17 in the 2002 4-Strokes Nationals, was sponored by Carmichael Honda here in Sac as their A rider on the team. In addition, he had many sponsors.

My son Devin was injured about a month ago during a race in Ky. He had no feeling in the whole right side of his body when they carried him off the track. He was so lucky that the majority of his injuries ended up being a lot of swelling and bruising everywhere but his knee, and most of the feeling came back. He destroyed his right knee completely and has a lot of nerve damage in that leg. He has had one surgery so far and will undergo another on the 24th of this month, and then we will know from there what is next. He was in his first 90 days of his job so he will be trying to pick up the pieces and start over whenever he heals, which we aren't sure how long that is going to be. Being 19 and down for a few months seems like the end of the world for him, but I am hoping he will realize how lucky he actually is.

From the Kerber Fundraiser website (http://www.kerberfundraiser.com), the following is a description of the Kerber family...

In case you aren't as fortunate as me in knowing the Kerber family personally, let me share a little about them.

The very first time I met the family they treated me like one of their own. If you are a friend, you are family to them. You will never find an entire family that is as willing to help anyone and everyone whenever possible, I guarantee it!

Their late father, known as G-Dogg, owned and operated the family's auto shop, which was right on their property allowing him to still be around his family, while at work. Family and faith were always first and foremost in his life. He also helped develop and support the family's passion for motocross. Watching his kids on the track every Friday night was his motivation for the long and hard work hours. Even after his passing, the family continued to operate the auto shop and still lives for motocross.

The kids in this Kerber family are like some you've never met before. They are wise beyond their years. They are respectful and kind to everyone. They too, just like their parents, would help anyone. They have lost more than many will ever have to in their entire lifetimes but they still have faith. They are amazing!

The Kerber's mother, known as Mom to far more than her 12 children has a heart of gold. She loves children and if you see her out, you can never tell which children are hers and which are the "extras", as she treats them all the same.

This family is truely amazing and life just isn't fair with the amount of loss and tragedy they've experienced. They are strong, but they will need support and prayers to make it through. Please continue to keep this family and their friends in your thoughts and prayers. All the attention to this tragic accident may fade in the short term but it will take a lifetime to heal. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping support this family. I promise you they are more than deserving of your prayers and support.

God bless this family and their friends and help them to heal physically and emotionally. Let the memories of their loved ones dance in their heads and stay in their hearts forever. Amen.

With love, Megan

For those of you in Minnesota and surrounding areas, a benefit for the family and friends involved in the accident is being planned in Jordan, Minnesota at the Scott County Fairgrounds on May 12th. There will be a motocross open ride, freestyle MX show, live music, buffet style meal, and live and silent auctions. http://www.facebook.com/events/301478463256394 More information on this event should be coming this weekend.

For those that can't make it to the benefit events locally, but would still like to show support, t-shirts and wristbands are being sold at http://www.kerberfundraiser.com. Also, a fund has been set up at the Hometown Bank for the Kerber family. You may donate by sending checks payable to:

Escondido motocross rider Bryce Vallee was severely injured when he fell from his bike during an event at Pala Raceway on Sunday - 4/1/12.

Vallee, a 21-year-old Escondido Charter High graduate who has competed on the AMA Supercross circuit, apparently tumbled from his bike while executing a jump during a TransWorld Motocross Spring Series event. He came to rest in the landing area and "got landed on by the next four or five riders. Trevor Reis, 21 years old from Alpine, Ca also sustained broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Bryce Vallee broke both of his legs, shattered his left elbow, fractured his left wrist, ruptured his liver and a kidney, broke his collarbone, suffered multiple fractures to his pelvis and lower spine, and suffered nerve damage to his left arm and wrist, his father said.

Bryce and Trevor were transported to Palomar Medical Center, where Bryce underwent nine hours of surgery beginning Sunday night and remained in the intensive care unit Friday morning. His condition is stable for now.

"He is in a great deal of pain and is only semi-conscious, in and out due to the trauma and all of the pain meds," Mike Vallee wrote. "The positive things are that there doesn't appear to be any head injury and the spinal column and neck seem to be OK."

Trevor also remains in the hospital as he was taken off suction last night and his lung collapsed again.

The crash was filmed by me and you can see the extent of this sad day here.

http://youtu.be/B75CekTOAm8

I am looking for some help for these 2 young men. They need support in more ways then one person can give them.

Please let me know how you can be of assistance. Trevor is a great friend of mine and I cant do this by myself.

Thanks
