On December 13, 2007 Emery Humphrey passed away while practicing at a local North Carolina motocross track. He was 11 years old. For those of you that didn't know Emery, he was one of the most sweet, loving, and talented children you could ever meet. Emery touched all who knew him and taught us all to be better people. He will be deeply missed. Please keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time. Trey and Kristi Humphrey have asked that no flowers be sent to the service, but instead all donations be made to Rider Down.

Trey & Kristi,

My heartful prayers go out to you. I know there are no words that I can give you that will help you during this time of grief.

I lost my 18 year old nephew this past June at a qualifying race for Ponca. I know the lose and struggle that my son and I have gone through, but it is nothing compared to what my sister-in-law and her husband have been going through.

The road ahead is not easy, but you will begin to find a "new normal" in your life. I want you to know that God is with you and he will carry you through the days ahead.

You and you family will be in my daily thoughts and prayers.

May God Comfort you during the days ahead,

Carol

I am so sorry for your loss, I unfortunately am familiar to the pain of losing someone close, my fiance passed away in September who was only 24. I live with his family and the pain for each one of us is different. His parents lost their child, and sister and brother lost their brother, I lost my best friend and soulmate. Emery and his family will be in our prayers. I'm sure he is with my fiance, Matt, in heaven right now learning some new sick tricks tho and I will pray to Matt to take care of him up there.

This past weekend we traveled to Greensboro, NC to race AX. I had the pleasure of meeting Trey Humphrey, Emery's dad. Trey gave Ethan a sticker for his helmet with Emery's number.

The #529 and #96 were side by side aboard the #11 and #511 and I know they were smiling down on the Colosseum.

Trey,

It was so nice to meet you. I hope you visit here and read this. There are so many great people here who share the love of this sport. Unfortunately, some also share your same pain and have experienced your same loss. We are here for you and your family.

I just wanted everyone to know what an amazing person Trey Humphrey is. My son Jonathan also raced AX in Greensboro this weekend. Trey called us the day before we left to let us know he was coming and when he got there, not only did he watch and support all of Emery's friends, but he took my son Jonathan to the line each and every moto. This was one of the most loving, unselfish acts that anyone could ever do. I truly believe it helped both of them in the healing process. Please continue to keep this wonderful family in your thoughts and prayers.
