I went through about 60 flyers at the MX race I was at today :)
I was wondering? How does everyone feel about dropping flyers off at cycle shops and posting at race tracks? I have lots of energy and lots of Flyers I had printed up at Office depot, I would love to do something good with them!!!
If that is going to far let me know!

Jeff, I think it's great - the more exposure the better! Just out of curiousity, what was your experience like with the people you gave the flyers to? I've found it's pretty easy to strike up a good conversation because it's just the right thing to do. The purpose of "Helping Riders Up" speaks for itself.
Keep up the good work, and thank you, thank you very much!

Definitely agreed John, I'm always interested in someone's first few impressions when they start taliking about RiderDown.
We've gotten some really good ideas from our volunteers about various ways to work with the tracks and shops. The enthusiasm is infectious! :D

I passed some out on Saturday which was organized practice, and the reception was great. to the point that some people wanted to keep me there in their pit talking my ear off. Race day was a little different. But I am much more of a serious guy on race day so I may not have had the same enthusiasm as I had on Saturday. I plan on hitting some of the local cycle shops in my area this week and dropping off some flyers!

Hey Jeff,
Great Job! No problem with the cycle shops, anywhere and every where as far as we are concerned. Of course we don't want to put them up on everything we see and have the towns angry at us  but your thinking is great.
How much was it for you to have Office Depot do them? I need to have a bunch made up tomorrow and get out to one of our Arch Angels, I thought about doing the same. I wore out our color copier on the last go round.
By the way, I liked your site it was fun.
Well great job and keep up the good work.

the color copies were painful!!!! $1.58 each!!! so I only got 25 of those then a bunch of black and white ones for leaving in places. I am on limited finances this being a few days before payday :) I have decided to buy a color ink cartridge for my office jet and see how many I can do with one cartridge. and how much it costs. This may be a much cheaper option as I do have a fairly good office jet printer. I also called Kinkos and there quote was $1.78 a page for double sided color copies. pretty much the cheapest place I could find was Office Depot.

oooh, I guess I'll keep using the copier at the office. I'll try and make you up some too, Jeff. I think using the inkjet will be costly too. The inkjet has the best quality and will be good for a few, like for the shops and specific locations but to spend to much on the hand outs when they may just get trashed by some I wouldn't go through that expense.
Thanks for your dedication with all that. And I'll get you some.

I figured the same thing. The flyers I left at the sign up table were of the black and white variety. and ones I handed out to non-family having racers were also B&W but the ones I handed to the mothers of little kids racing were the color ones. Sort of discriminating but I wanted the best bang for my buck in possible donations. I took a lap by the color copier here at work but it is heavily guarded as it does not sit nearly far enough away from the presidents office.
I did receive my braclet and stickers today! thank you.
As far as the ink cartridge goes it is only about 50 dollars for the cartridge and I am still on the first one. I have printed many many pictures atleast 100, so I am thinking I might be able to run a couple hundred double sided out of the thing. if I could then that is not much expense. At least that is the theory.

Hi Jeff
I'd love to hand out flyers, and will be at a race next weekend. Is it something you could email to me and I could have printed up here--I'll either get a new ink cartridge, or see what pricing I can get..my work does quite a bit of business with Kinko's so I might beable to get a deal...
Thanks for all you've done. I look forward to helping spred the word!
Dawn
(and yes, I'm also a mini mom!)

Hello Dawn,
The flyers were emailed to me in full size PDF files. I just printer one copy with my printer and went to Office depot with it. Since I am at the very best a Junior Member, I do not have the authority to be emailing such things. And it would be much better coming from Joe. I am sure he will be replying to this post soon. Good Luck to your little one in this weekends race!! :D

Yo Jeff, how are you doing man? That two year old do a number on you this weekend? That's tougher than a 30 min moto anyday.
Hope you had a good weekend.

Starting to do OK now. Got sick, and chasing a 2 year old around when you just want to die on the couch is exhausting.....besides taht had a great weekend. even passed out 4 flyers on Monday. I was at the cycle park and ran into a few people. I now keep a pile of flyers in the pick up.....not sure if it is the same level of interest I got from the mini moms but atleast the appeard to be interested... Can't wait for my shirts to get here!!! I also ordered two rolls of vinyl to make stickers with which is half the battle of talking my buddy with the machine into running a bunch off.

Hi Jeff
I hope you start feeling better. I'm going to try and make up a bunch of flyers over the coming days and I'll get some out to Everyone.
Keep passing them out you never know who's hands they fall into. It maybe discarded at a track an Ole Malcom or someone like that may pick it up, who knows.
Be Well,
Joe
