Many of you have read the story of Ben Burdick. He had a very serious head injury in November. The injury was enough to test any family, but the situation was made more difficult by the fact that his wife was 8 1/2 months pregnant with their 3rd child.
With Christmas coming up and Ben in a Rehab center 4 hours from home, local Kansas City Rider Wade Wassinger (and now RDF volunteer) decided he had to do something to ensure that the Burdick family had a good Christmas. The amazing thing is that Wade had never even met Ben. Wade went out and set up collections of toys and money for the family. He and his friends built a wagon to attach to his KTM and delivered the toys in style.
In the attached photos, you can see Wade dressed up as Santa arriving on his KTM 530. You can see the living room full of presents donated by the local Kansas City area riders. There is a great shot of the family including the new baby, born just days before. We also got a good shot of me presenting a check from RiderDown to help the family with medical expenses.
This is what RiderDown is all about. Thanks to Wade and all that made this happen.
