Well, right after I posted on this web site ~ Amanda was rushed to the Emergency Room as she had severe pain in her right leg, this is the leg that is still having trouble(s)....

Anyway, after a blood test the Doctors found Blood Clots in her bad leg, so severe that the Ultra Sound Technician stopped in the middle of the test and went and got a Doctor. She was immediately placed on Blood Thinners and Clot Busting Medicines…. Complete bed rest was also on the menu…..

After a week in the Hospital, she was finally released today…. She will be on permanent Blood Thinners…

The whole reason in writing about this is just recently another rider in Northern Nevada broke his leg, had surgery and a couple of days later died due to Blood Clots.. The Doctors were amazed that none of Amanda’s broke free as this would have killed her…

The point I am trying to make is if your child gets cramping in the leg and/or abdomen
please do not take a chance…. Amanda had no other symptoms other than severe cramping…. If she had not gotten to the Hospital, she would have died from this.

Parents, please look into this, we get them past their initial injury only to lose them to Blood Clots…. Here is some other information about Blood Clots.
Thromboembolism (Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism)
Some blood clots in the leg veins do not cause any symptoms. However, when the blood clots involve larger veins, they generally cause redness, warmth, tenderness, swelling (edema), and a sensation of heaviness in the leg, particularly when you've been standing.

Get them to a Medical Facility immediately; this will save their life and cause you less heartbreak in the end……

Good advice Mona, blood clots (or the possibility of them) are not something to take lightly. Take precautionary measures and seek medical advice.

I'm glad that Amanda got treatment and everything turned out well. Keep on smilin'!:thumb

Wow! Close call Mona! I'm so glad Amanda got to the hospital and they were able to address the clots. Please let her know we're all thinking of her.
