Last weekend was the annual Trail Riders of Houston/AMA/Suzuki/ National Dual Sport ride in Terlingua Texas.
This was my second year as Chairman of the ride and this year's ride was dedicated to the memory of Burl Hughes who passed away earlier this year.
Burl started this ride 11 years ago and his shoes are hard to fill.
The Board of TRH kindly proposed to donate $1000.00 from the proceeds of the ride to RDF in memory of my youngest son Steve MiniRocketman Smith who got to the finish line a little too early in December of 2005.
We also raffled off a Clarke gas tank and raised another $150.00.
All in all we had a great two day ride with 130 riders. Almost every rider had to travel upwards of 500 miles each way to get to this ride so it's not for the casual rider.
Now we need to figure out what to do next.......
