Hello to all Members and Guests! I rode a little bit in the 70's and recently got back into playing in the dirt. Motorcycling was and is a big part of my life - Time to GIVE BACK and what a great way to do it! I am really proud to be a Member and I look forward to contributing!
What you may not know is that David ("Dave" to me) Wysong and I sort of grew up together. I believe that Dave and I last saw each other about 20 years ago in Oakland, CA. Finding out that he was associated with Rider Down earlier today when I joined was completely amazing! We'd lost touch with one another after that day in Oakland.
I sent him a private, fairly sarcastic message this morning and I await his sarcastic (caustic?) reply (it's a love-hate thing, folks!).
Seriously, Dave is a person I always looked up to and admired for so many reasons. Dave always was an 11 on the HONESTY / INTEGRITY scale, even as a kid.
Tell me what I need to do to be a good Member!
Best, Jeff

The first thing you should do is deny any association with David !!!!

Although many of us are guilty of a little indiscretion back in the 70's.

Welcome aboard......

A feeling shared by all of us who know him well! :lmao

Welcome Jeff, it will be good to talk with someone who knew him back then that can help us sort out the BS from all his stories and we know there is plenty of that. :D

All kidding a side David is one of my good friends and some one I admire greatly too. :thumb

Jeff - welcome to RiderDown.org, we're glad to have your support and it's always good to talk with someone else who played in the dirt "back in the day"! :cool

As Joe said, it'll be good to hear the other side of the story beside's what David has told has told us about, you know all the stuff about him being fast, rich, famous, good looking, etc....hmmmmm :lmao :lmao :thumb

ps. I don't know what that Lorenz guy is talking about but just let me know if you need a project to work on. ;) When you get a chance fill out one of our Volunteer Intake forms (found in a tab at the top of our home page) and we'll put you to work!

Take care & ride safe!

From the sound of it, my old friend Dave still gets the SAME sort of love he got way-back-when. It's not easy being Dave - and it never was.
Still no response from him but if I truly know him, it will take 1-3 weeks for that. Heck, I'm just happy to see that he figured out the whole internet thing.

Best to all of you! Jeff

PS - The webmaster needs a pat on the back. VERY NICE SITE! :thumb

Hi Jeff,

I can't believe it been twenty years. Wow, let's talk soon. I am making the call to your mobile phone now.

Hey all.......Jeff was one of my best friends growing up and when he says he rode a little in the 70' he is being modest, he was the fastest guy on a motocross bike in Northern Calif. He taught me a lot about going fast and bouncing off berms. I have a lot of stories I could tell.

I just got off phone with Jeff and my side hurts from all the laughing. He has a memory like an elephant when it comes to telling stories about the things we did as teenagers. Fortunately my memory is pretty good too so therefore we have agreed to only disclose about 30% to minimize any long term damage to our credibility and image as being decent human beings. I can now feel relieved, I have dodged a bullet.

All kidding aside……Jeff finding the RiderDown Foundation because of his desire to give something back to the off road motorcycle riding community and therefore renewing a friendship that was lost over time has now shown me a benefit that I never realized would come from my involvement in this great organization. I would like to thank Jeff for taking the time to find RiderDown and also I want to thank RiderDown and its members for helping to create the kind of organization that attracts people to our cause like Jeff.

Hi John - Would love to hit the road (or the dirt) with you but I'm living way down in So Cal these days! I lived in Dublin for about 20 years. I sure know Gilroy - GARLIC FESTIVAL! :thumb GARLIC FRIES! GARLIC BEER! GARLIC ICE CREAM!

I used to ride my street bike down to Laguna Seca every year for Indy Cars and Superbikes. How long have you been in that region?
