In my opinion a lot of injury's could be avoided by pushing more motorcycle training. I have sent my boys to MX Schools in Canada and in Texas and I feel it has helped the kids develop the techniques and skills to keep them as safe as possible. I think this is one of the most over looked areas. I feel it is almost just as important as gear.

Bailey, my 10 yr old is sponsored by 5 MAGICS MX School here in Texas. Larry Morten, Vet Pro and the owner is excellent at teaching basic skills through to the most advanced techniques and it is a bargain for what you get back. We will be attending his school at the Freestone NATIONAL Track in October. If anyone would like to attend let me know. Young or old its never to late to start investing in your safty. It would be great to have some RDF folks join us. I will be pushing this more in time as I feel this area needs more attention.:!: I will ask Larry if I can hand out some RDF fliers as well.

Joel - I'm a huge fan of these types of schools and rider training. Even if you only pick up one small tip at any given school it could turn out to be the one you need the most at some point in time!

Thanks to Larry Morten and 5 MAGICS MX School for their support! :thumb

I believe Larry will let you video tape your sessions. There is no way you can digest everything he teaches in 2 days. Having it on tape allows you to go back and pick up new stuff and review what you already worked on for months and years to come.:thumb

Joel,

First, I have to tell you again, thank you for joining the forum. When members take the time to share there thoughts and ideas, it gives everyone new incentive.

I totally agree. :thumb My son has attended two schools, each with a different trainer. It's amazing how focused and carefully these kids listen to someone besides a parent.

I just wish that trainers would spend a few more minutes focusing on the importance of safety gear. It's not such an issue now but, when my son first started riding it was "why" this or that is a bother. Hearing it from someone that they look up too makes a world of difference.

Thanks Larry and 5 Magics Mx school !! :thumb

Thats why a like Larry's school. He once told a student who did not have knee pads on that he would lend him a pair. Larry actually usually has some kids gear at the events he is selling for cheap which is great!

This is Larry's web site..he has lots of ridinig tips and class schedules. Each student gets a package of goodies and a certificate at the end of each classs and Larrry will be adding an RDF flier in the mix.
