:cry: Due to the land used for the course being sold to a logging company.

What a bummer !!!! This is one of the funnest races i've ever done...Was really looking fwd to it... Now i have to wait another year.

That's really too bad, I've heard so many great stories about this race. The whole GP format is a lot of fun.

When are we riding Houston? The GMB is first weekend in October...:thumb

It's really too bad..:cry: ..That place is a blast. I know they've had this problem for a while,but said it was going to work out......Guess the logging co changed their mind.:mad:

I was so bummed to read this. I was really looking forward to Talahina being my first cross country race. It just sounds like such a great weekend. Ah well, I guess there'll be next year.

It's almost GMB time... WOOHOO!!!!

Well Char,,,,there is a STORM h/s race at Outlaw the weekend of Sept 29/30. It's only about a 45 min drive from 3 palms.

Can someone enlighten me as to the difference between a cross country race and a hare scrambles race?

Basically ,same thing ,just a different name. The laps at Talihina were about 7-8 miles if i remember right .. The laps at a typical STORM H/S race are usually 10-12 miles
Just got back from 3 trees,,going back out there with the kids Fri around 1:30. You ever go during the week ?

Not usually, it's that pesky four letter word known as "work".

How was it today? Man, I bet during the day is the perfect time to go! Did you ride?

Friday is meet the teacher for my son. BUT...if the man could get off early, and me too, we might be able to make it out for a bit...

Thanks for the definitions. Does the H/S race run for 1.5 hours as well? Any requirements such as spark arrestor?

No, i didn't ride,,,getting my 5 yr old up to speed...One of these days,i'll bring my bike with me out there.....STORM womens classes run for 30 min on Sat or for 1hr on Sun,depending on which class you enter.
There's also a STORM race in Weimer,Tx (15 min west of Columbus ) on Sept 8-9.
You can ck out the classes andother stuff at www.storm-racing.org

races are on private land ,so no spark arrestor req'd
