Are we planning any presence at the Outdoor MX races at Freestone, Texas, on Labor day weekend?
Son Joel and I will be there with Grandsons Bailey and Hudson who will be racing.
With a little help organizing we could man a booth or whatever to further the RDF cause.
What can we do?

Steve Smith and all the family!!!

This is Vikki and Mark Smedley. We are planning on having a booth at Freestone. Tony Miller, the owner at Freestone, has graciously donated a vendor booth to RiderDown for the weekend race. We definitely will need help with volunteers for the booth so I will post more info or feel free to post or email me at vikkimark@yahoo.com. It should be great fun!! Mark and I are also bringing James Marshall with us to the race so it should be a blast!

Look forward to meeting all the RiderDown members there!

Vikki and Mark...

I believe my family and I are planning on being there. Please let me know if we can help in any way.

BTW, if you don't remember me, we've met at Mr Berg's house. I was also at the 3 Palms fundraiser for James.

If Char's bringing cinnamon rolls I'll put my diet off again until after Freestone....tough decision.

Steve - We can always use more help in the booth and I'm looking forward to seeing you, Joel and the family. I'll be there with my son Jason and John and Rita Herne. There is also a good chance that Joe might make it too......still working on it.

Hey David....I'm not sure of the race schedule for the Grandkids yet but I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys and meeting some others. Bring some stickers for the kids bikes, please.

Let me know your plans when you have them.

Joe, this would be a good thing for you to do this race weekend. Good friends and a great event. Life always looks just a little better when we have something to look forward to.

We had a great time at Freestone!! I'll post some pictures later today. It was great to get to meet Steve and Linda Smith and see Char and other RD members. We had fun spreading the word about RD. Tony Miller was very good to RiderDown. He provided us with a great spot for our booth.

Sorry, I copied this from ATM... I'm far too lazy, no wait, I mean old, I'm too old to type it all out again. :D

Daniel, the kids, my brother, my nephew and myself made the 2 hour drive on Saturday to watch a little bit of practice. We figured it'd be a chance to get a little closer to the action than we probably would be able to on Sunday. Boy were we right. It was definitely less crowded on Saturday, but the temps were higher.

I was really anxious to get a look at the track, especially since I'd heard it described as fairly flat. I guess that's a fairly accurate description. There were a couple minor elevation changes, certainly nothing that compared to Cycle Ranch. The track looked like it had a decent layout though, nice sized jumps, some tight turns and a very sandy whoop section. My biggest complaint from a spectator's point of view was that you were really limited as to how much of the track you could see from any one section. That meant lots of walking, which was ok, I guess. Shoot, this was my first national... I was stoked just to be so close to the riders.

We headed on over to the Rider Down tent to say hi to Wysong and Mark Smedley, it was good to see those guys again. Everytime we stopped by, there was always someone there wanting to find out what RDF was all about. Pretty cool.

John, Allijah and Jason, Wysong's son. (Man, I hope that's right)

Apparently Wysong decided to show off that white facial hair, loud and proud!

I know there's nothing spectacular about this shot, but it's cool how you can see him grabbing the tear-off:

Char.....Great pictures and thanks for the cinnamon rolls.

Amy......That's what happens when you go fishing for a week without a shaver. I'm glad you like it even though it may only be temporary.

Vikki & Mark Smedley.....Great job guys, we managed to stay real busy telling the RiderDown story to all the Freestone spectators all day Saturday and most of Sunday. Having James Marshall in our camp brought some great additional attention as did the Leatt Braces on display. Thanks for all your hard work putting this together.

Awesome shots Char!! :thumb I love those pics of RV railing that berm and lofting the front end -- way, way cool. The lap times that "kid" is throwing down are amazing, I'd love to see him on the 250F against the big bikes just for grins....Oh wait? I think I will get to see that this year at the US Open in Vegas!! :D

Thanks again to everyone who helped spread the RDF message at Freestone - you guys are the backbone and the strength of our mission!!

Ride On!!
