The second case is that of a young man named Kole Henslee. He is the son of one of our club officers. Kole is 14 and has gone from C to A in the Missouri off road scene in the past 2 years. He will some day be a national caliber rider.
This past March, Kole was riding his bicycle and crashed hard knocking himself out. His dad did not want to take any chances, so they took him to the hospital. When they did a CT scan on his head, they found a tumor. They went through a terrible three months trying to determine what to do. They ended up doing surgery about three weeks ago. He came through with flying colors and has recovered faster than anybody could have hoped for. They got the biopsy back today on the tumor. It turns out that it is the slowest type of cancer possible and they feel that they got it all. He should be fine. He has to wait 4 more weeks to get back on his bike, but that is all.
He is riding with me up to the Racers 4 Research race this weekend to get a work average. He will be excited to watch the races and see all of his friends.
This is a great feel good story, so I hope that some of you feel better after reading this.
