After a couple weeks of mind numbing pace launching a new business... getting the house ready for family to arrive for graduation ceremonies... and readying ourselves for 4 days in 104 degree desert heat for the Smiley Benefit Ride at the Husky Memorial... I had become, in a word... FUN-LESS ! LOL
After everyone packed up and shipped out I decided it was time to burn a few days and go get my fun back. As hot as it was, the dogs and I found an isolated little valley nestled between beautiful red mountains on all sides with trails leading out of camp to everywhere.

And although we have been here about 5 days and seen NO ONE there was a nice little freshly cleaned rock fire pit. So each evening after the heat dies down the dogs and I sit next to the pit wishing it was cool enough for the colors and sounds of a fire. God must have heard me thinking because he decided to paint me a sky like I have never seen before. I could not have asked for a better end to my little sabbatical. I wish the photo did this work of art justice. But I wanted to share what I could.
God was definitely in the CA DeZert today...
