I mentioned this some months ago.
http://www.riderdown.org/forum/showpost.php?p=2791&postcount=2
It may be a hassle to set up and I don't know the intricate details involved but I fully believe this would be an EXTREMELY valuable asset to RD. I am a single parent and (considering that I'm a man) I have a tough time keeping up with all the details anyway. If I could choose an option somewhere to send a few bucks out of every paycheck to RD it would be very cool. I seriously think this would be a huge benefit to the organization.
At least check into it PLEASE!!=!

Jedi - your idea is a good one, we have discussed it before and are pursuing various ways to make it available. We currently have some employers who have us set up on their payroll deduction plans (with some even offering matching funds). An Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) arrangemnet would be great to have and our Treasurer is supposed to be looking into setting that up. Bug him about it to spur him along .......he's a KTM guy down in the Lonestar state....:lmao

You can now consider him bugged.:D I PM'd him but I can see where the issue would be a difficult one to set up.
But how cool would it be to just allocate a buck or two from your paycheck each payday straight to RiderDown? We'd never miss it! With 540 members here......... Considering a bi-monthly pay scale............ if 1/10 of us donated $1 every two weeks, that would be $108 each month. And that's being conservative. I bet we could surpass that easily.
However, I reckon in today's world, there aren't that many folks that stay at the same job for a long period of time. Just trying to figure a way to help out that doesn't add anything to my "to do" list.

I've seen Wysong's bike but not Wysong.:D
I still think this is a good idea. Maybe I'm in the minority. Hopefully, it will get set up.

Jedi - your not alone in thinking that this is a great idea. Let me push on this again...don't give up on it! :D
Well until this gets worked out you guys are welcome to use and promote monthly donations to RDF through the RIDERS site.

One of the groups that I give to monthly, Mike Utley's Thumbs Up Foundation, deducts it directly from my checking account. It's so easy because I don't have to remember to do anything.
The system I am using deducts your monthly donation from the Credit Card you use to Subscribe. It also sends you an email each month to let you know the transaction has been made. And you can discontinue your subscription at any time.
Personally I would never give anyone access to my checking account or Payroll so this is a good option for me. Hopefully it will be for others as well .
Hey GOOD NEWS fellow RDFers ! I was able to work out the button code so now your subscriptions on the RIDERS - RDF Subscriptions page above go DIRECTLY to RiderDown !
Sign up folks... This is as automated and simple as it gets !

Jeff - thanks for your efforts in setting this up! :thumb
No problem... The tools were already there... If and when you guys set something up on your end I'll change the graphic and bounce all inquiries to your direct page.
Anyone besides me used it yet ?
Curious if anyone has taken advantage of the subscription option here or on other websites ?

From your site?
YES - It doesn't matter where the button resides... I'm just curious if anyone actually Pushed a Subscription Button and bought a RIDERDOWN Donation Subscription ?
Since I set up the transaction to go directly to RiderDown I have no idea if the folks that were asking for it ever used the feature ? Those buttons have been blasted on 12 different off roading websites.
Has it gotten RDF any subscriptions ?

Jeff - I have been waiting for someone else to chime in here 'cuz......
We have only one monthly donation resulting from this effort so far. I'm sure it's about ready to explode!! :thumb
We have a few employee/employer matching contributions and the United Way is sending some money our way regularly...:cool
As John said earlier we have a couple of things in the works to bolster this idea and I'm really excited about the potential for this program and what it can mean to the riders and families who need a little help!
Please give!!
Well that's disappointing. If you really think about it most people can afford a buck a week. Heck 2 bucks a week ! Just skip the supersize on your french fries a couple times per month. LOL
That comes out to $5 or $10 bucks a month. Peanuts. Just consider it CHEAP Insurance for the Soul !
And just so folks understand the process... The buttons on the RIDERS website do NOT send the money through RIDERS. Those buttons take you directly to PayPal's Subscription Service on The RiderDown Foundation Account. All moneys go directly to RiderDown.

I just made my own buck-a-month PayPal link:
Donate a buck a month to RiderDown (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick-subscriptions&business=donate%40riderdown%2eorg&item_name=RiderDown&no_shipping=1&no_note=1¤cy_code=USD&lc=US&bn=PP%2dSubscriptionsBF&charset=UTF%2d8&a3=1%2e00&p3=1&t3=M&src=1)
I will never miss a buck a month. There are over a thousand members on this forum's rolls now. Imagine each of them painlessly kicking in a measly buck a month each. I think I'll stick the link in my .sig.
I also cooked up a PayPal button to do the same thing, but I don't think I can post the code here because it will freak out the forum software. I can email it to you if you wish.
