On May 13, Jerico Littrell had a near fatal accident on the same step-up that Dalton Johnson wrecked on at Daniels Ridge MX in Taylorsville, NC. Jerico is a very experienced rider and has always put safety first. However, he cleared the step-up but got caught in an old fashioned endo and landed face first into hardpack dirt. I have seen him hit this same jump countless times before and always landed it without any problems. I thought he was going to die on me out there. We hardly had any cell reception but we finally got through to 911 and they airlifted him to Carolina Medical Center. He completely separated his shoulder, broke ribs, punctured his lung and has severe brain trauma. As of today, May 23, he has yet to wake up.

He is self-employed and his wife stays at home with their 10 month old baby daughter. He is only 28 years old. We don't know if he is going to come out of this or not. I visited with him on Friday and he actually is starting to look like Jerico again, yet he hasn't made much progress. Both his and his wife's family live in Missouri so they don't have alot of local support other than their church and friends. His family has come into town to help out but they can only stay for so long.

I am asking for everyone out there in the motocross world and everyone else to pray for Jerico and his family. Anything that can be done would be great. He is on the 9th floor of Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC and his home address is:

Jerico Littrell
215 Erskine Drive
China Grove, NC 28023

Thank you!

One of Jerico's close friends is creating a website for Jerico. It is still under construction, but folks can post messages on the guest book. The address is www.prayersforjerico.com.

Not much has changed, however he is breathing on his own and is out of ICU for the moment, but he has yet to wake up still. Right now is critical for him and we are asking for everyone to pray during this critical time period.

Thank you,

Jimmy

We all appreciate the prayers and support from everyone at Riderdown. Unfortunately, I was notified mid-morning that Jerico has passed away. I am not sure what to say or do at this point, however, I would like to request that everyone continue to pray for his wife Dana and daughter Kaelyn as they go through this incredibly difficult time. I just can't believe he is gone. It doesn't seem real.

Well....Last night my son and I attended Jerico's wake and it was incredible! One of his best friends/Cousin (Paul) put together a slide show for everyone to see and it was awesome. As emotional as it was, it made my son and I want to go ride so that Jerico can watch us. That is what Jerico would want out of everyone....to go and ride so he can watch from his new locale.

I am trying to be at peace with the whole thing. It is difficult, but last night helped alot. There were alot of tears shed.

And, as I am writing now, I realize that this forum has helped me tremendously. Just to be able to write about it and have support means the world to me.

Thanks to everyone who listened and cared!

Jimmy,

I cant begin to imagine what you and the rest of Jerico's friends and family are going through. Im sure like all the rest that are addicted to this sport he would want everyone to ride on. Please know that we are always here to listen. I will continue praying from PA.

Jimmy,

I'm at a loss for words. Ditto to what 50ccMom just said (except my prayers are coming from CO).

Jerico, may you roost on down that perfect trail!

Jimmy, I'm sure that you perfectly expressed Jerico's wishes. Will have a nice ride for him this Saturday.
