Ryan Keller is a 16 year old rider from Castlegar B.C. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Ry is not in great shape. He has a compound fracture of his right wrist (both bones) which took 4 1/2 hrs of surgery Sun night to get cleaned up and put back where they belonged (with the help of screws and plates). He is in good spirits but will be back in surgery tomorrow afternoon to clean out the wounds and recheck that everything is staying where it should. If all is good they will sew him up. If it still looks mucky they will leave the wound open and he'll be back in surgery again on Thurs to try again. They won't close it up until they are sure they've done all they can to avoid infection.
They thought he had severed a nerve but fortunately it just got badly stretched and hopefully with time he will have feeling on the pinky side of his hand. He is having quite a bit of pain which is well controlled with regular pain meds. He's in Trail Hospital and we don't expect he will be home much before the w/end. He's very lucky, it could've been alot worse.

I'm sure he's bummed that he's out for the season but it's good to hear he's doing better.
