Cole Harrington, 10 yrs old

Cole Harrington is ten years old and from Hastings, MN. I asked his dad if I could share his son's story. I believe that his father is member MNdad.

This past Sunday Cole tangled with another rider in a double double section. He went down hard. It took more that 20 stitches to close up his face and the inside of his mouth. He was cut clear through. He also has a bad gash on his tongue. He got an ambulance ride to the hospital.

While these pictures were being taken, he told his dad. " I think I will take next week off" ! By last night he was ready to ride and mad that he couldn't !

Just take it easy little man ! You will be back riding soon enough. :cool

From Cole Harrington's Dad, regarding the ARC Angel gift bag Cole received:

On April 29th 2007, Cole Harrington 9, was racing at Elko Speedway in MN. On the first lap of the day, he got crossed up on a double double section and was violently thrown into and over the bars upon landing.

He suffered a nasty cut to his lower lip and tongue. The 1 1/2 inch cut on his lip was completely through. While the medics were caring for him, he was complaining of stomach pains and being short of breath. The medics made the decision to transport him to an area hospital to be checked for any other internal injuries. Upon arriving at the hospital, Cole regained normal breathing and the stomach pains had recessed. It took over 20 stitches to close his lip, with his tongue being left to heal on its own.

On 5/19/07, while practicing the day before a District 23 race at Midway MX Park, Cole was presented with a ARC Gear bag filled with many very nice things courtesy of the Rider Down FOundation. Cole's friend and fellow competitor, Tyler Gast made the presentation. Cole and Tyler have become close friends since meeting each other at the track some 3 years ago. Tyler is 10 years old and from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

A big Thank You goes out to the entire Rider Down Foundation for bringing a smile to yet another kid who was unfortunately injured while doing what he loves.
