Here's an update on Dalton Johnson's condition from his mom. Some improvement, but quite a ways to go yet.
Hi, Dalton is not able to return to school this year and is going to outpatient therapy 2 days a week at a center about an hour away from our home. He make daily progress. He is walking, talking, and eating well. However he still has a lot neurological things that we are working out. He is still under the care of a neurologist and will have another MRI in March to see if the brain is healing. His broken hand and collar bone are healed. He is still working out some things with his brachial plexus injury.

My name is Tanner. I am 15 years old. Dalton goes to my church, and I have watched his progress for 3 years now. He is now 16, and is a sophomore in high school. He has slowed down since the wreck. When I look into his eyes I see hope. He has come a long way and has a very long way to go. He is very active in the youth group at church. Him and I are good friends now. His grades are not doing as well as they were before the wreck, and since we are in the same grade, I want to help him. He has so much potential. I know that it was a miracle that he was saved from that wreck. He was meant to live. He has not fulfilled his destiny in life. I have yet to know what that is. He doesn't think about his future that much, and sometimes that hurts him. I remember seeing him on that Sunday on his first visit to church since the wreck. Everyone stood up and clapped for him. From the things he told me, I have noticed that he doesn't really have a best friend that will help him out and get him through this. He may have some friends at school, but high school can be very tough, especially someone's social life at high school. I want to be that best friend and help him out. Since the wreck, he really has no hobbies. I think that he needs something besides motocross to do and think about every day. Something for him to do that will make him want to do good in school. For me, that is music. I have been playing piano for 11 years, and I am willing to teach him if he wants to learn. Or, we could both take lessons. If he doesn't want to do music, I will stand beside him and help him have a hobby so he can look forward to the life ahead. If he does better in school, has a hobby, and dreams of that life of being successful, I will go to sleep every night knowing that I helped someone achieve their full potential in life. And I will stand beside him every day until that happens. I will protect him. He will also stand up for me. I see that he will do that. This isn't a one-way friendship, it's a two-way friendship. He doesn't tell me what to do, and I won't tell him what to do. We are there for each other. I will pray for him, as well as very many other people.
Dear God,
Dalton has had a lot of failure in his life; a lot of sadness. But he has a lot of hope. Dalton puts a smile on the face of lots of people. He has went through so much, but yet has so far to go. Because of You, God, he will live his life to his full potential. I know You will be there for him. May his past be forgotten, and his future no longer be dreamt. I believe in miracles, and that they are caused by You. God, I love You, and I am so glad You are part of Dalton Johnson's life. Amen.
