A new, yet to be classified vehicle will be going into its first production run by the end of February, 2007. Redline Holdings, LLC will be producing the new "Revolt" after much design and testing. The Revolt is hybrid of an ATV and a sand rail. It has some similarity in the basic design of the Honda Pilot and Odyssey of the 1980's but far more advanced and durable.
With 75 hp and weighing in under 700 lbs, the power to weight ratio exceeds the current race quads including the class leading Suzuki LT-R450. The design and engineering department have tested the Revolt on many different types of terrain including motocross tracks. According to Scot Taylor, Redline's Director of Marketing, the Revolt has jumped 80 ft doubles very comfortably and safely. It's 65 inches wide which is about 15 inches wider than a race quad giving it excellent stability and handling characteristics. Top quality vendors have been used to supply Redline such as Fox Shox. The Fox air shocks provide 14 inches of useable travel helping to smooth out the landing of big jumps and blast through the whoops.
An effort is underway by Chris Mastrocola, father of injured quad racer Anthony Mastrocola, to increase awareness of the Revolt. The ultimate goal is to have the ATVA and promoters like Racer Productions create a new class for these vehicles and run the in the ATVA GNC Quad National series. Mastrocola is working with Redline to provide two units for testing on the current GNC circuit. So far, Carrie Coombs Russell, executive director of Racer Productions, and Doug Morris, director of the ATVA have had very positive attitudes towards the idea.
Recently, RiderDown and Racer Productions have teamed up to create the "Passion Tour". It was named becaused of the "passion" injured riders still have for the sport even if their injuries prevent them from competing. The Revolt may pave the way for these passionate people to, once again, compete in the sport they love. The full roll cage, racing seat with 5-point shoulder harness, window netting, and a hand control modification will allow people with physical challenges to race next to the able bodied person with no disadvantages. The Revolt will also give parents and racers the option to compete in a vehicle that provides a higher level of safety and security.
Thanks to Redline Holdings, the ATVA, and Racer Productions for their efforts and positive attitude towards this project. The website to view the Revolt is www.1redline.com.
