Hello everyone! Happy New Year!

I was just surfing around on the internet today and I came across a post on Ryan Foreman's death here in Central PA. He was injured and died at an AMA event this past summer. I believe the post was by a memeber ... 50ccMoM. I didn't know him , but I had seen him riding over the years at Panther Hollow Raceway

Personally, I don't have any terrible stories(simple broken bones...lost count), but I was touched by all the post on here! This looks like a good organization, and I am interested in getting involved.
I live in Central PA myself( actually Tyrone) and I attend many races with my children. Do any of you live near PA? maybe we could get together for some rides or, better yet, make people more aware of saftey problems at local tracks.

I'm older, grew up racing in the late 70's, so I know a little of the history of the sport and I think WE could make a difference. I know some district rider reps so if we get organized I think we could make a difference in rider saftey

Anyhow, I hope to be here Saturday for the chat room session while Phoenix supercross is running.

I hope some of you will stop on by!

Hello and welcome to the RiderDown forum. You are correct i am the one who posted about Ryan's accident. I also attended his Memorial race.

I am located about 45 minutes North of you. I am the volunteer coordinator. My son races district 6 and has so for four years. I am always looking for help in our area.

All you need to do is fill out a volunteer application and I will put you to work ! Feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

Honda907 - welcome to the site, I'm glad you found it and are interested in helping spread the word. PA has been a hotbed of activity for us this past year with so many injuries happening in the area. There are many ways we can make a positive difference in this sport and in the lives of our fellow riders and their families.

ps. I grew up racing & riding during the early to mid 70's in the Western NY area, pretty similar stuff to you...sure loved the "old school" outdoor MX tracks!

Take care & ride safe!

Hi Honda907,

Thanks for joining us at riderdown. I live in Altoona and my son has raced at Panther Hollow a few times. I have probably met you. What is your name? My son Anthony was seriously injured at the Steel City Quad national this past year which is what got me started on this site. They are great people and have been very helpful to us. I look forward to hearing from you!
