Scott Goggles' Bevo Forte unveils his unique RiderDown fundraising campaign - "Supercross' Biggest Loser! Commencing this weekend in Toronto at the start of the 2007 Supercross season, Bevo will be weighed in at the event to come up with an exact starting position. Tight controls will be enforced to monitor his caloric intake throughout the season. At the end of the SX season there will be a final weigh-in celebration at the Las Vegas Supercross.

Pledges will contribute on a per pound basis and multiplied by every pound Bevo loses. Pound Pledgers can click on the button below and get involved with helping injured riders while challenging Bevo to lighten up! Keep your pledges private or post them here so that Bevo feels the heat.

Stay tuned for updates as the season rolls on!

Hey this looks great.

Having Bevo on board with RiderDown really show that we have hit the "big" time.

From what I understand Bevo has a heart as big as Texas. Thanks to him for caring enough to put this together.

It was great spending time with Bevo in Las Vegas. I’ve only heard great things about the man and now I understand why. Bevo, thanks for supporting RiderDown and if you want some company on your long power walks when at the Houston and Dallas Supercross……just let me know.

So have we gotten a lot of pledges? I know I made mine. If you guys need any help at the Dallas SX with anything let me know. :-) Plus I am keeping my fingers crossed to go to St. Louis so I can see my buddy Cody. (So if I go I can help out there too)

Ran into Bevo at the SF Supercross and his first words were "Did you pledge at Rider Down?" I came home immediately, signed up and PLEDGED. After all, you really shouldn't mess with Bevo. Personal note, he is wearing suspenders (to hold up his baggy pants?) AND either he is buying bigger belts or getting smaller. A good cause for riders and for Bevo -- count me in!

Thats great news & thank you for the pledge! We haven't gotten any firm numbers from Bevo yet as far as the actual weight loss. However, word is he's dropped some serious pounds before when challenged!

We saw Bevo in Daytona, he's looking good. Honestly it's hard to guess about how much weight he's lost - he is still a BIG guy!

He is doing a fantastic job spreading the word about this fundraiser, even if he doesn't lose a pound he's still done great things to help all of the injured riders inn this sport! Please let him know that you appreciate it!

Bevo & Ludo - what a pair!

This is an excerpt from today's (3/23/07) Racerhead #12 by Davey Coombs at www.Racerxill.com, check it out. Thanks Davey!!

Anyone who has been at the races lately has noticed that Bevo Forti is slowly disappearing. No, the eternal “Czar of Motocross” is not leaving his post anytime soon. Rather, his commitment to lose weight during the Amp’d Mobile Supercross tour as a way to raise money for the Rider Down Foundation has him running out of holes on his belt—the tighter holes, not the ones at the end of the belt!

http://www.racerxill.com/images/articles/large/0000005851.jpeg

Bevo hasn’t told anyone how much weight he’s lost—that will happen at opening ceremonies of the Las Vegas SX —but Ludo from One Industries was astonished at how much had came off the big guy. Besides, he’s betting on Bevo: $50 a pound! If you haven’t gotten involved with this, it’s a cool thing to do for your fellow riders. Check it out.

Ludo & One Industries have stepped up BIG for our injured riders - remember to say thanks!!

Gatlin5
03-23-2007, 07:20 PM
Ludo didn't waste any time he was one of the first and how about the National Promoters Group (NPG).

I believe the only Pro rider who has stepped up so far and he was also one of the first to donate was Broc Hepler.

Awesome guys!!! Your riders/fans/customers thank you!

Tatonka
04-03-2007, 07:09 AM
Actually we've recieved pledges from several other Pro's including Davi Milsaps and Jeremy McGrath. But yes, Broc was the first so he does get the holeshot award!

Whether you know Bevo or not, help motivate him to lose as much as possible - spread the word that he's losing weight to raise money for RiderDown.org. We need to keep him focused between now and May 5th when he gets wieghed in at the Las Vegas Supercross finals!

Please -keep those pledges coming, there has been no shortage of injured riders lately who need your help and support - every dollar helps.

THE BIGGEST LOSER IN SUPERCROSS

http://www.motocrossactionmag.com/Media/News/lvBevo.jpg

American MX institution Bevo Forti finally hit the scale to see just how much money he raised for the Rider Down Foundation with his charity diet that ran the length of the Supercross series. Bevo lost 62 pounds and raised just over $40,000 to aid injured racers. The biggest contributors were: $100 a pound by the National Promoters Group, $50 a pound by Ludo at One Industries, $25 a pound by Pro Circuit, and $25 a pound by Geoff Foxx who runs Parts Unlimited. Immediately following the weigh in Bevo cried out – “Ok, who’s gonna order the $100 pizza!” Bevo’s next weight loss challenge is dedicated to recently injured MX icon Doug Henry. The charity drive will be for the outdoor series and conclude at the MX des Nations at Budd's Creek in September.
