Eight year old Tyler Thompson first ARC Angel Recipient from Canada
Tyler Thompson, an 8 year old from Canada who broke both legs in a motocross accident is our first ARC Angel Recipient from Canada. This was a labor of love by Joel Plouffe, his wife Jennifer, their children and the rest of the MiniRocket Man Race team. This labor of love runs very deep with in a very close knit family who suffered the loss no family should have too so early in ones life. Steve Smith JR, aka MiniRocket man a wonderful young man of 20 years from Round Rock, TX was lost to us all back in December of 2005, you can read more about Steve from his best friend, his dad here;http://www.riderdown.org/forum/showthread.php?t=61

Tyler (guess which one he is:razz:) and Joel Plouffe of MiniRocketMan Racing, his ARC Angel.
Jennifer Plouffe; We went to the Thompson's house on Thursday night and had a great visit. They were so appreciative but ironically, I felt like we should be thanking them. The boys were so happy to see that Tyler was doing well. He really is an amazing little boy. I think his expression in the pictures says a lot. He really was in good spirits. The video game was a winner!!

Shortly after Stevie's death, Joel decided to name the race team after Stevie, but we were not going to be just a race team -we were going to help others in honor of Stevie. RiderDown inspired us to do this and has supported us in doing so. Thank you. I feel for Joel and myself, visiting Tyler and giving him the gifts was like therapy and we have healed a little more. While we hope to try to help people in a proactive way, the reality of the sport is that at times it will be more reactive. We are looking into ways we can support to RiderDown here in Canada, but before you know it we will be able to contribute more from Texas.
Our family - Joel & I have 3 boys- Bailey 9, who has been racing since he was 6, Hudson 5, who rode with training wheels at 2 1/2 in Texas with Grandpa Steve and Jr. and has been racing since he was 4, and Ryder, who is 11 months old and is pretty content watching the races every weekend (for the time being). We currently live in Burlington, Ontario and we are trying to move to Austin, Texas within the next 6 months.

Tyler(Just having way too much fun) and the MiniRocketMan Race team; Bradley Baxter, Bailey and Hudson Plouffe. Way to go Boys!
We started MiniRocketman racing with our neighbor and good friend, Larry Baxter in February 2006 in tribute to Steven Smith Jr. aka MiniRocketman. We currently have RPM motorsports as a sponsor and they donated some goodies to Tyler Thompson. Our racers consist of Bradley Baxter, 13 is our oldest rider and currently rides a Honda CRF250, which is quite a bike for a 13 year old but he is improving each race. Bailey our son, currently rides a RM65 and is running 4th in the CMX summer point series. And our other son, Five yr old Hudson has just graduated from his Honda XR50 to a KTM SR 50 and is currently 2 points out of 2nd place in the CMX summer point series! The boys usually practice twice a week and go to a race on the weekend. We currently race in the Steel City Riders and the CMX racing organization. While we want the boys to do their best, the weekends are a lot about hanging out with friends and family, not just racing.
We are a new race team and as we get more organized, we are trying to be more than just a race team. We would like to actively help other riders who have been injured and proactively work to prevent and minimize accidents while riding.
