This past weekend while qualifying for Ponca City on his 50, our son Calebs friend, Sennett, crashed and broke his arm. I believe this is Sennetts first broken bone :( . Sennett participated in the Vancouver KJSC back in December and won, so he will be racing in the big final at the U.S. open later this year. We want to wish him a very speedy recovery.

Another Washington rider, Jake Anstett was injured while qualifying for Lorettas at Honey Lake. My husband talked to Jakes Dad and it sounds like he hurt his knee pretty bad. We first met Jake a couple of years ago at our local track. He has been really great with our kids, giving them pointers and encouragement to try new jumps and stuff. I know Jake has been working hard to get past another injury he suffered while at Oak Hill earlier this year and really wanted to make it to Lorettas this year. We want to also wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Sennett is doing great healing right up from what I hear. Jake had surgery on his knee, but needs more. He told my husband that he tore just about everything in his knee.

It is so sad to read about all these injuries that riders are having, but it's also encouraging to know that there are organizations and people out there that care and want to help.

On a positive note, Caleb is doing awesome and says hi to everyone. Were getting ready to head to Mammoth and he will proudly be displaying his riderdown.org stickers on his helmets there.

Way to go Caleb!

Glad to hear Sennett is doing well. Real sorry to hear about Jake. What is the long term prognosis for a child so young with extensive knee damage? Does it heal better than a young adults? I would love to hear about it if anyone has any experience with this.

Have fun at Mammoth !

Joe
