I am very saddened and sorry to report that Danny has passed away. Danny had become my friend and I will miss him for who he was. Go in peace Danny - may you find happiness and comfort the rest of your days.

Damn it all....never again will I not call someone when I get that feeling in my gut. I owed him a phone call..he can't be gone. Danny changed my life. I have told him (and many others) that after first meeting him at Glen Helen about 5 years ago that he changed the way RiderDown would work to help injured riders. SCI, TBI and other life altering injuries became top priority. He opened my eyes to many issues. I couldn't believe it when we first met. I mean the guys a freakin' legend, he had been a hero of mine for years even though he was only 3 days older than me. Jody W. described him to me before we met as being "like a hemorrhoid - you never know when he's going to flare up" and that was certainly true. He saw the need for safety in this sport and championed that cause for years, let's not forget that part of his legacy. Danny was passionate about the things he loved...and he loved Motocross.

Godspeed Danny...R.I.P. You will be missed greatly but remembered forever!

Danny Chandler "Magoo" was someone that as a teenager we would drive down to Hangtown and watch... What a legend.... I never dreamed I would be in this sport especially having 3 daughters.
When Amanda started racing at Hangtown 21 years later we would see him there and I introduced every one of my daughters to him; we would sit and talk for hours at his booth he set up selling dvd's of his life story.
I looked at him with more respect after his accident as he gave his life to better this sport. I am saddened that the new generation will not be able to speak to someone that literally gave it all.
Prayers to his family...

Credit for this great painting goes to our friend Robert Kinsey. I had just picked up a shirt with this design on it and told Danny I was saving it here for him to sign...........
