Hello I would like to share some information about Stem Cell Treatment that uses Adult Stem Cells.
Our son Kenny injured his spinal cord on July 24, 2008. Kenny rode his motorcycle as a stress reliever and to just have fun. Kenny was riding at a local track and went over a small jump and fell over his handle bars breaking his C-5, and fracturing his C-4 & 6. Kenny's initial diagnosis was total paralysis from the chest down, we were told that he would never be able to eat, drink or breathe on his own. Well as a mom I never took that diagnosis seriously. After months of therapy and rehabilitation we decided to look into Stem Cell Therapy. I found a center in Germany that uses your own "Adult Stem Cells", which are better for your body and recovery because they are not foreign and they know were to go and what to heal once they are re-entered into the body. After researching the Center and the treatment we applied and submitted an application to receive treatment for our son Kenny.
Kenny was approved for treatment, so we scheduled and planned our trip to Germany. Kenny received his treatment on October 28, 2009. The procedure is on an outpatient basis, it quick and pretty much pain free. This procedure is many years ahead of American medicine, our doctors at Kaiser have told us, and we have seen positive results. Kenny is now gaining strength, weight, muscle, more hand & trunk control. Although Kenny isn't fully independent we are still hopeful for a full recovery. We have begun to follow the therapy treatments that were given to us at the center, it seems to be working. We are planning to return to Germany for another treatment hopefully sometime this year.
We are very happy with Kenny's results we would love to see other riders receive the treatment and gain more results during their rehabilition. Time line of the injury is not limited. The center treats patients with all types of injuries and many years after the injury has happened.
The name of the center is called X-Cell Center in Germany. The cost for the treatment runs around 12,000 US dollars. We spent under $20,000 for 3 of us including hotel, airfare, transportation and treatment.
I have been given approval to refer new patients to the X-Cell Center. If you are interested please email or contact me with a reply and I will submit your name to the to the center. I will be happy to answer any questions. By me submitting your name the center will know that the injury was related to a motorcycle/ATV accident. They are interested in recoveries that come from this type accident. This will also help further their research on SCI motorcycle accidents.
Blessings to all,
Tammy Potts

Hi Mona
I am so glad to hear that Amanda has such a quick treatment date. I want to share with yo our son Kenny has improve. Leaps and bounds since I last talked to you. We are following all of the recommended therapy that the Germany doctors recommended. It's all very exciting and a little scary, but easy. I know that this is what Amanda needs and I truly believe we have been the choose ones to lead in this exciting journey. Kenny's new pool therapist recommends that we get Kenny back there for another treatment ASAP. We will have to wait due to lack of finances. We are hoping to hold a couple of fundraisers.
I will share this wonderful news with Kenny. I truly believe that his injury was to help others, because we both are SCI recovers. I suffered mine in 1996, and used herbals, and was in an experimental study that has also helped others.
If you need anything feel free to ask. Like I mentioned before I am here to help anytime.
Big hugs to you both,
Tammy Potts

I've got to say this all very exciting and I'm pleased to hear that positive steps are being made in your recovery. I also must admit that I'm a born skeptic and have many questions. So many people would love for this to be the answer to their troubles and have been hoping and praying for it. Please help those of us here reading this to gain a better understanding of the process and exactly what kind of progress is resulting from these treatments. Trust me when I say that I'd love to be one of the biggest cheerleaders for this process if it is real and we can verify the claims. :thumb

Well Kenny has been attending Pool Therapy. This therapy has helped Kenny's stem cells to correct damage that occured from his accident. Kenny is now experiencing great pain in his lower back which his pool therapist is what he wants to be having happen. Kenny now has a 1 lb grip in both hands and can feel weight in his legs. I am trying to obtain his medical documentation in order to share his exact improvements with you all. This is not just away to give false hope but a way to believe that there is treatments in other countries that can provide improvement and recovery from spinal cord injuries. Please check out Kenny's story on the X Cell Center website.
It brings a tear to my eyes and thanks to the doctors from the X Cell center and there studies for improvement to our son.
It is along journey, but one that needs to be shared with others.
blessings, and more information to come !!!!!
Good Luck to Amanda and Mona our prayers are with you.

I hope to hear more about your treatment. When and where are you going? I also hope to get more information about the actual research including trials that are done according to scientific protocols.

Kenny continue to make improvements since his stem cell treatment in October 2009. Thank goodness for the X-Cell Center..........
We live in sunny Southern California, were shorts and flip flops are a must. But since Kenny's filp flops like to flop off his feet he insists on wearing shoes. Lately, Kenny has been telling us that his feet are hot and burning up and to take off his shoes. So of course I take off his shoe and he lets out the biggest sign of relief, "ooohhh that feels better, my feet can breathe".
I think, he can feel his feet........................then I ask, can you feel the relief?................and he answers, yep...........spray my feet............can you feel that cold mist................he answers, well it's cooled off my feet, what do you think? He has always been a smart mouth. But I was thankful for that reaction. Well his progress hasn't stopped with his feet. We have purchased a "Total Gym" and follow the steps that they use on the "Project Walk" website to gain mobility towards walking. And that has made the biggest difference in Kenny's improvement (along with the treatment, which is just like having a super cell in your body). Kenny has been working out using the TG and has noticed changes in how his sides, stomach, lower back, butt, wrists and legs feel. It is amazing how time heals all wounds if treated properly.
Kenny's legs and thighs have been the most amazing to us. His legs and spasms are so strong they amost have him standing upright. We were told by the German doctors that the cells would kick in, and we should change him every 3 months. And almost like clock work we see different improvements every 3 months. Just as you get use to one thing something else seems to improve.
We have been working on "on command" movements, it's still a little hit and miss, but it is coming. His forearms and tricep muscles are filling in nicely. Before Kenny and his friends would say he had "Oprah arms", kind of jiggly. But they don't resemble Oprah anymore. Kenny's hands are showing little improvements, the strength in his hands is much better, but he continue to struggles with "digit control", but we are working on that.
Most of my excitement happened yesterday.....................he and his friends ordered Pizza Hut, we placed a few hot slices on a paper plate and placed the plate on his lap, I told him it was HOT!!!, (but he is a man and stubborn) he shouts, move that plate it's burning my thighs.............................WOW !!!! he can feel the heat from the pizza. We were all shocked and looked at each other, and said, how long did you feel the heat ????? Kenny said, right after you placed it on my lap, I moved it down my thigh to see if I could feel the heat there. Just shocking.............
We have always known that other's would benefit from Kenny's injury, we just didn't know to what extreme. Well our blessing for others has been Kenny's willingness to do almost anything to recover from breaking his neck and becoming "whole again". If we wouldn't have gone to the extreme and tried out Adult Stem Cell Treatment at the X-Cell Center in Germany, we probably wouldn't be seeing these changes happen right in front of our eyes. It has been the most exterme thing we could have ever offered to Kenny. Knowing him and not wanting to settle for living the rest of his life in a chair has made the biggest difference in hi improvement. Don't get me wrong, it is not a piece of cake, daily therapy at home or at a treatment center, willing to listen to me ask questions about his changes and do you feel this or that...but it is our journey. A journey that has been laid out in front of us and a blessing we are giving to other families................yes, it's been a blessing. We have submitted several names to the X-Cell Center as a referral under Kenny's name, just as they have asked us to do. You see, the center is interested in SCI that have occurred from an extreme sport injury. Just like what our families do for hobbies, recreation, and just stress relieving fun.
To them it is a extreme sport, to us fun..................By doing so, there have been a few referrals who have returned from treatment and have been experiencing the same outcome Kenny has...................I give them a lot of praise and thanks. To believing in Kenny's story, we are not crazy it is what it is and it is also hard to explain the changes that are occurring from the treatment.
Mona and Amanda are my true heros...............traveling to Germany alone, this is an experience that happens pretty rapidly and can be very scarey, but then exciting at the same time. I hear many good improvements that Amanda is experiencing at this time. Austin Peterson, just returned from Germany. He too noticed changes soon after the treatment.
Garrett Grant will soon be traveling to Germany with his family in October. We have even been in contact with "Snowcross" and "Arena Cross" rider Joshua Shiskoski, from Canada who broke his back in January 2010. Exciting is just the beginning, the changes and outcomes are the blessings.
Recently we have been given a personal liaison for referrals..............Our last to referral only waited a couple of weeks before they got a treatment date for October of this year.
If you are interested in Adult Stem Cell Treatment please email me personally. I will submit your name to our liaison, give you an application to fax. When we applied we went directly through the center. Phone calls to Germany, faxing to Germany.............................then we were assigned a liaison. But now everything will be submitted to a liaison in the United States. Much easier and faster.
I remember one post it said, "could this be the miracle we have been waiting for?" I think it is......................try it out for yourself.................then you can decide, miracle or not !!!!
To all whom have suffered a family tragedy, my heart and blessing go out to you, I know it is a journey that has a lot of ups and downs, ins and outs. But it is your family, your loved one, who you will do almost anything to make better.
I give you our love and offer my help and prayers, feel free to ask me any questions, I will help you the best way I can. Stem cell and helping others has become a passion since Kenny's injury.

Hello
I thought that I would update you all on Kenny's recovery. These past few months have gone by so quickly and Kenny's continues to improve.
Currently Kenny is working with a personal trainer. This has been the best move we could of made for Kenny's recovery (other then the stem cell). Kenny now has the ability to feel hot and cold water on his feet and legs, he is able to tell us when his feet are hot and sweaty. He continues to improve the muscle mass in his biceps, triceps, back, legs and thighs. He has an older injury to his knee that he continues to bother him, (yep, he can feel his knee cap) and all the tendons and muscles that move it. Slowly but surely his muscle tone continues to return. Although he continues to need assistance with his daily needs, he has come along way and continues to improve daily.
We have Kenny using the "total gym" and his form of exercise, a standing frame to keep his brain remembering that standing is part of life and to help improve his bladder/bowel. My brother in-law and nephew have rigged up a manual exercise bike to become electric so Kenny's legs and body can improve on his circulation. In all Kenny's body is returning at a consistant pace. Slowly, but surely Kenny's fingers continue to get stronger, his grip and punch have gotten a lot better. We are aware that the damage to those muscles are located right near the C5 break. So another stem cell treatment will help speed up the return to his hands and fingers. We are banking on returning for another treament to continue Kenny's progress moving forward.
We were given no hope for recovery, but after the stem cell treatment we knew that Kenny's chance at recovery was high, and the treatment has proven it. It's all about healing the spine and wanting to recover. It take a lot of hard work and consistancy, dedication and will power, but if you want it bad enough it will return. Our body has everything inside of it to heal it's self, we are never told that by our doctors.............but, we were told that in German. Those little words (you can recover) have mean't the world to us and other's.
Our family has been given the biggest blessing and that has been sharing Kenny's story of recieving stem cell treatment at the X-Cell Center and Riderdown Foundation for allowing me to post the story. I am happy to share any information we have experienced to help those who also have suffered a tragedy such as ours. There are so many people that are worried that it may not work for them, but that's just the fear that you are supposed to have. The fear of "what if" it doesn't work....................."what if" it does work....is the chance you will take towards recovery.
I would like to share a brief story about a Pro Rider from Canada, Josh Shiskoski. He contacted me about the treatment in Germany, I told him about Kenny's and Amanda's recovery and how the German doctors said that American athletes have a better chance of recovery because they have to be fit to ride and race. So chances of recovery is high.........it didn't take but 1 phone call for Josh to decide that the treatment was for him. Josh broke his T4 racing in Arena Cross, and was given little hope at recovering. Needless to say, Josh should be returning form Germany to day after recieving stem cell treatment. He is aware that healing the spine and proper therapies are important. I can't wait to hear from him and see how his treatment went.
Thanks to all who have prayed for Kenny. Prayer plays an important part of recovery and has given us strength.

Update on Kenny Potts;
Well as of August 29, 2011 Kenny has been able to prove his doctors wrong. When asked to squeeze his thighs together Kenny was able. The look on his doctors face was "priceless". Although, it was just a slight movement his doctor was amazed that the stem cells were actually helping him improve. We haven't been using our insurance for therapy, Kenny had a persoanl trainer. Due to the ecomony she lost her job and moved to Vegas. So back to the doctors we went until we can find him another trainer or begins walking !!!!!! Kenny has come along way in 3 years, he uses a manual chair and continues to improve daily. Considering what all his doctors had predicted that he wouldn't be able to do, and what type of live they expected him to live. He has never given up.........these next 3 months will be exciting, with pool therapy and strength training in line, his real goal is to begin locomotor training at a rehab facility that offers it. Thank you for all the prayers, they have been hard at work blessing Kenny and our family. I will keep you posted in the next few months. But if you have any questions, feel free to send me an email and I will be happy to respond.
hugs,
tammy potts
The X-Cell Center is no longer accepting patients due to a new German law, but there is a private facility that one of the Center's former physicians has opened up. If need be Kenny will go there for his 3rd treatment. The facility is located in German but is closer to Berlin. Here is the website: [URL="http://www.stemedical.de"] They offer the same treatments as the X-Cell Center. I would not think twice by referring people there.

Tammy - thanks for the update on Kenny, his progress is amazing! Have you spoken with Janni Kouri (owner/founder of Next Steps Fitness)? He was so impressed with the locomotor training he received that he has been on a campaign to make it available to more people. His first facility is out in Los Angeles, if you do talk to him please tell him that Bruce at RDF sent you!
