Well, I guess ill confess to breaking my collarbone / Clavicle about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I went to big sky Montana for a week to do some snowboarding, on my third day of boarding I went down HARD. I landed right on my left shoulder after doing 2 unintentional front flips.

It was a simple break right in the middle on the bone, they set me up with a "Figure-of-Eight" brace and a simple arm sling. however, even after two weeks of healing time, the bone still seems to be popping / moving around in there.

I have an appointment next week with an orthopedic surgeon to get his opinion on what to do next. hopefully no surgery will be required.

Looks like half of my enduro season went down the drain. LOL.

Any advice on this type on injury would be great.:cool

Randall - sorry to hear about the collarbone! I personally have never broken mine, separated my shoulder (both) a few times but totally different. Did you have the helmet cam on when you were boarding? :yikes

Hopefully someone will chime in here with some advice on the rehab.....

Get well quick!

No helmet cam on, lol. I did have about three pounds of snow wedged into my helmet, and a very sore neck. The doc said the helmet saved me from getting a concussion. And after looking at the helmet I agree. ( the plastic shell is a little deformed after the impact )

the worst part is that I have been sleeping in a recliner. I'm going to try the bed tonight..........

Aight Bruce, I took your advice and got some Glucosamine 750mg, Chondroitin 600mg, and some Shark Cartilage 750mg.....

If i turn into a shark, I will hold you and the hot chick who sold it to me in GNC fully responsible........

EDIT: Whats with the Buffalo Avatar?

Well, don't expect any miraculous, overnight cure (unless that's something extra promised by the nice, helpful sales associate :thumb ) but, the stuff has made a difference for me.

Buffalo? What Buffalo?

Heal up, Randall.

Well, went back to the doctor, and it looks as if I have two options now. The bone is aligned properly, but it's not healing much. So I can either wait another month or so, and see if it will fully heal. Or I can go ahead and get a plate put in.

Either way, it looks as if it will be about mid summer before I can really ride again.

Did the doc speculate as to why the slow healing?

Not really, Its probably mostly my fault though. It seems like every time I move my shoulder it will "pop". which is probably causing it to re-break.....
