I just wanted to say how much I support The Rider Down Foundation! I had an aciddent last summer, I ended up spending five days in the hospital, do to chest tram, and broke my arm. I did not think that it was that big of a deal, until I relized I had nerve damage. The doctors told me I may never get it back, which meant on more racing! the following months where not the best of my life, recovering and hoping that I could race agian. I was really surpized and excited when I unexspectedly recived a package from The Rider Down Foundation.:yikes I did not even contact them! Needless to say that were there when I was down, and they help me back up. I am now racing again at the GNCCs and the Enderos. I am currently second in the womens class at the Enderos with one more race to go.:flip: And I am in the top 10 in the 250B class at the GNCCs. I just really want to thank Rider Down they where there when I needed them the most. Thanks Rider Down.:)

Hi Kelly,
My husband also has nerve damage and its very painful, where was yours and how long did it take to get back. It was great reading about you and knowing that you are riding again.
Best of luck!

Hi Renee!!!!
I had never damage all down my left arm. Thankfully only one of the nerves was damaged. I could not lift my wrist, fingers, or thumb up on my left side. The never took about 5-6 months to heal to the point that I could use it again. That was with physical theropy! The best advice I could give you is to go see a never specialist!!! That is what helped me the most. What the doctor did was stick a needle into my arm where the never was not working and ran electricity through it to see how well it was functioing. It hurt like hell but it also kind of woke thenever up, it started to heal faster. The never specialist told me that if my right arm was 100% then my left arm had 97% never damage!! This came as a huge blow! He also told me that nevers are extramly diffrent and extramly hard to predict, he said that it can take anywhere from 6 months tothree years to heal COMPLETELY!! My never is still not completely healed,I still have numbness on my left thumb, but I can move evrything!!! The Doctors will prepare you for the worst, but that does not mean that they are always right.
I would definatly go see a never specialist, no matter where he got hurt and see what they say. It never hurts to get a second opinion. When your husband does start to heal, I recomend lots of physical theropy. And BEWARE if he has damaged his nerve, the nerve will start to hurt when it heals, or at least it did for me. But if it hurts that means it is healing!!
I wish you the best of Luck and I hope all is better SOON!!! Please contact me if you have anymore questions. I would love to know how he is doing! I am pre-med, so I get a little curious!

Hi Kelly,
Wow you have made my day, I can't wait for my husband to wake up so I can show him your e-mail! I will research nerve specialists. My husband is in constant pain but I know he can deal with it if he knows its coming back.
Thank you for making my day!
Renee
