Just wanted to make a post about a friend of mine whos son was seriously injured.Connor LaPlant 13 from Pompey NY suffered a serious head injury on april 10th. Connor was riding on a practice track at his home when the accident happened. His dad ,Joe, was watching Connor when it happened and immediatly called 911 as Connor was unconscious and airlfted to Syracuse University hospital.Connor is currently in coma and somewhat stable at this time. The family has set up a website for Connor and to keep everyone updated on any progress he makes. There is a message board on the site so if anyone would like to wish him and his family well please feel free to do so im sure the Connor and his family would appreciate it. Please take a minute to check out the site and learn a little more about Connor. Thanks Todd Murfitt Connors website is www.capturecreations.com/caringforconnor

Todd,

Thanks for sharing Connor's story here at RiderDown. I'm so sorry to hear of this accident and his condition. Head injuries are so unpredictable, the first few weeks are very nerve racking. The recovery process is very slow but seems to go really well the younger the person is. We will be praying for a full and speedy recovery for Connor.

You will be hearing from some of the others I'm sure. One of our members, David Wysong had to deal with a similar situation with his son Jason a few years ago, you can read about it on our web page www.riderdown.org, it's called Jason's Story. Jason is doing very well now but it was a long slow process.

I'll check out the site you have attached and we will be pulling for Connor, you can count on that.

Our thoughts and prayers to Connor and his family. We are right here anytime you need us.

God Bless,

Joe Frontiero and family

Todd,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. As Joe said, I have been in a very similar situation with my son Jason when he was in a coma for over 3 weeks at the age of 8.

Tell Connor?s family to stay positive even when the doctors are less than positive about his condition and recovery. Connor is young and his ability to recover will continue long after most predictions from the medical staff. I have seen this is my son and others.

I would be happy to talk with Connor?s family at anytime to give them some insight in dealing with the memory and physical issues that they will encounter over the next couple of years.

The LaPlant family is in my prayers,

David

Todd,

We will be praying for Connor. When I was a kid the very first serious dirt bike injury I knew of was a bad head injury/coma with one of my classmates. He was is a coma for weeks and it was touch and go with his survival chances, but he recovered completely. It was a long recovery, but he healed 100%. I hope Connor will be a similar story!

Best wishes,
Sandy
