We need your help!

November 15, 2005 Waterville, NY: There is a young child and family in need of immediate assistance that we can all help. For the second time in just 4 years, the Schachtler family is engaged in a courageous battle to save the life of their 11 year old son, Brandon, against a formidable foe, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.

Brandon, # 255, is a member of the Central New York Motocross Riders Association (CNYMRA) and was racing in the 65cc, 10 to 11 year old class and the 85cc, 7 to 11 year old class. Now, instead of spending his time at the track riding and racing, he is spending his time at a hospital receiving chemotherapy treatments.

The Schachtler's are a hard working farm family whose faith and resolve are being tested numerous times every day. As the holidays approach, we will all enjoy time with our families. The Schachtlers will be doing the same; however, they will be wondering if this will be the last time they celebrate the holidays with Brandon. We can't begin to imagine the pain they must be enduring and the strength they must summon day in and day out for their son. On top of it all, their funds are dwindling fast.

Together we can make a tremendous difference. Every one of you is so very important in this effort to help the Schachtlers through this monumental battle for their son's life. Your prayers and thoughts are very important but the family also needs your donations. Every dollar counts so please be generous and give what you can afford. If that's only one dollar please send it as it will make a difference.

Donations can be made through the following organizations:

As we get closer to the Holidays my thoughts are consumed with what the Schachtlers must be going through and the terrible feelings they are fighting within.

I get up in the middle of the night and face my worse fears, where is the next amount of work going to come from, am I going to be short next month, do I really need to be spending money on this or that. Can you imagine what fears they are waking up to, or how about Brandon himself. I'm sitting here with the biggest lump in my throat and tears building up in my eyes. As parents we'd change places with our child in a heart beat if we could save them. It just doesn't seem fair sometimes that we have to watch them go through something like this and feel so helpless.

God Bless you Brandon and the Schachtlers! I hope you have the most special Christmas of all and I pray that the New Year will bring you great Joy!

District 3 had their Banquet last night and Hacksaw (Mike Robinson) gave a speech on behalf of RiderDown to tell the members about the organization and to also present the Schachtler's with a check and a card with everyone's name and email address who donated.

I want to thank you all for your generousity and kindness. We are not done yet, we currently have only presented this here and at a few other sites. Our plan is to present this more as a press release and to distribute it industry wide.

Brandon has been receiving treatments weekly for the past year and expects the same to continue for another year then they'll reevaluate.

I'm sure Hacksaw will fill you in more as he has time.

Thanks again and God Bless Brandon and his family!

Curious to know how this family is faring. I know from first hand experience how devastating unexpected tragedy can be. I'd love to help, but we're still so new as a foundation and so broke :? !!! Let me know what the latest is and what is still needed.
