Hey everyone!
The pasta dinner is finally all coming together.
This being the first big event that I have planned, I am learning a lot of new things and skills in organizing.
For my project, I knew that I wanted to do something that would give back to the motocross community. I heard about RiderDown through a rep at a race. I thought the concept of the organization was great. Being an active motocross racer, since the age of four, I know what it's like to have injuries. It's almost like motocross and injuries come hand in hand. So, organizing this spaghetti dinner was the best way that I could give back to the motocross community. It was something that would not only mean something to me, but would also help out the people who are injured in the sport that I love.
If you can and your in the area, stop by and have some pasta!

Here's a note from Jessica ("short & sweet" as she put it it).....
Looking back at the organization and preparation of my spaghetti dinner, I feel that I achieved the ultimate goal that I had originally anticipated to achieve. From the very beginning, my main goal was to organize a successful dinner in order to help a rider out through RiderDown. Organizing a dinner such as this was something that I had always wanted to do. Along the way I achieved much more than just organizing a successful dinner. I gained a sense of knowledge of how much time and effort goes into organizing an event such as my dinner. I’ve also gained many new skills that will definitely benefit me in the future. Every second that went into organizing the dinner was well worth it. I think that it’s important for motocross riders and racers to become active with the motocross community. RiderDown is an awesome organization that riders can give back to by donating or organizing fundraisers. With the risk of injuries in motocross being very high, I think that it’s important that riders are there to support other riders who have been unfortunately injured. In the future I definitely plan on organizing more fundraisers or doing whatever I can to help out RiderDown!

Is that cool or what? I am very proud of what this outstanding young lady accomplished. She took on this project from A to Z and kicked butt! She followed through and did exactly what she said she would. She raised close to $1000 to help injured riders and helped spread awareness for the RD Foundation in a very positive way! Kudos go out to Jay, her family and her friends for this generous undertaking...GREAT job!!! :thumb
