16 guys from my club and I made the trip down to the South Jersey Pine Barrens for the 72nd running of the Sandy Lane enduro. We make this a yearly event. None of us is very competitive down there - it's a real specialized kind of riding that the Jersey guys have knocked. If you've never seen it, it all flat, coarse sand, with very tight trees and lots of whoops. This year they named the A/B-only section "The Meat Grinder". This section was 8 miles - almost all in 1st gear for me with tight turn after tight turn - most times going through trees in a space narrower than your bars.

Had a great time and finished in the middle of the B-Vet class - where I usually place. The new 300xc worked awesome. I'm very happy with it.

I was also satisfied with my fitness. I've stepped up my workout lately and I think it paid off. My latest thing is doing laps up and down my cellar stairs carrying an extra 70lbs. I've got another month to keep working before the next race and the season really gets started. Still very sore 2 days later.

Here are a couple pics.

Tony - glad to hear you're liking the 3Honey, they are awesome bikes. The Sandy Lane Enduro has always sounded like a really fun event. You probably need to keep a spare set of mini or cut down bars for those tight tree races!

Satisfied with your fitness?! :yikes Man, it's not often you hear that!! Congrats ya big stud!

Congrats Tony, that's awesome. I have read some about that enduro and it sounds alot like the riding we have down here in FL. The sand and whoops can wear you down pretty fast.
