A note from the Hoffmans:

My son Travis was a surprise recipient of an ARC angle package this weekend and was honored and thrilled to be selected. Travis has had a tough past 12 months. With a bruised spleen, compliments of Mr. Handlebar, and a couple broken arms he has spent more time off the bike than on. However, this nine year old has such a great outlook on life its really hard to ever call him a "RiderDown." That being said, a little pick me up is always welcome and we thank the entire RiderDown team.

The thought of quitting racing entered his mind for about 20 minutes while sitting in the ER after his last break. His mother had him talked in to selling the trailer and all the bikes and getting a pool at the house. We'll sometime between triage and getting to see the ER doctor, Travis already was worried "do we have to sell ALL the bikes?" Its been six weeks since his last injury and it looks like he will be released to ride later this week. While we as a family have decided to turn down the racing aspect a couple notches, Travis is already planning on racing Mammoth in June and has agreed to working with a trainer/coach to be better prepared.

While all these kids love to ride their bikes, the bike riding is just a special bond that they have with one another. Its the relationships and friendships the kids, and their families, make along this motocross journey that are the true reward. While we are grateful for the package of goodies we received from RiderDown this last weekend, we are blessed to be included as part of this precious extraordinary group of dirt bike people that we all call family. Thank you all for just being there!

Travis would like to send his best wishes to James Marshall, Ernesto Fonseca, Tyler, Branden and everyone else that is coming back from an injury. Get well soon all and he?ll see you at the track!!!

The Hoffman Family,

Thank you for posting that. We are so happy that Travis enjoyed the surprise, it truly makes our day.

And thanks Ruthie C, our newest Arc Angel, because of you there is a happy 9 year old ready to ride again. A special thanks to Ruthie's assistants, her children Luke and Delaney great job guys.

A big thanks to Rocky Mountain ATV*MC who makes this event so special with their support.

Good luck Travis and stop scaring your mom and dad so bad.

Thanks Joe and everyone at RiderDown for giving me the opportunity to present Travis the ARC Angel gift bag. It was awesome to see his face light up, something I will never forget. Travis is a very dedicated rider. He has a huge heart and loves motocross. I just can't wait to see him riding again.

I would love to say that Noah and Harrison are my own, they are great kids. However they belong to Dan and Mari Hoffman. Sorry I confused you Joe, with four kids of my own I think I've lost some brain cells.

Again, I felt very privileged to do something this cool. I encourage everyone to volunteer because it will bring such joy to a rider and to your heart!

Just wanted to provide an update. Travis is back on the bike and running faster than ever as he trains for Mammoth. Here is a link to a picture from last weekend:

Just a quick update...we want everyone at RiderDown to join us in celebrating one year of injury free riding. While we have had our ups and downs and fair share of spills, we have spent some time with professional trainers on riding technique and spent some of our own time on falling techniques and. so far, the results have been very good.

While he still has a ways to go to keep up with the fast kids, he is running faster and flying higher than ever before. But most of all he is having a blast banging bars with his buddies. Please help me hold off on the 85 for another year.

Thanks for everyone's support!!!
