Ladies & Gentleman,

There is a new and exciting way to support The RiderDown Foundation by doing what you would do in your day to day care of your vehicles already.

I have helped set up RiderDown as an Amsoil Dealer. Everyone of us needs to maintain our cars, trucks, motorhomes, boats, quads, pwc and bikes, you get the idea. :)

These toys and modes of transportation are investments and what better way to maintain and extend the life of your investments while supporting The RiderDown Foundation. Maintenance keeps these investments alive and now you can buy Amsoil products for your maintenance needs and support RiderDown at the same time!

Amsoil Corporation and its partners through RiderDown's Amsoil store (link below) can supply almost all your maintenance needs including all oils, lubes, oil filters, air filters, greases, fuel additives and with its partners Twin Air Products, NGK Plugs, Mothers Polishes & Waxes, Trico Wiper blades and Altrum Health products including all kinds of vitamins.

Amsoil is the first company to supply 100% full synthetic oils and lubes to the general public. They have been doing so since 1972. Amsoil offers a 25,000 mile guarantee between oil changes for normal service conditions, 15,000 for severe service conditions (towing, hard driving, dusty environments severe stop and go traffic daily) saving you money on your car & light truck maintenance costs while extending the life of your vehicle.

Here is how you can support RiderDown using Amsoil. Use the link below to order Amsoil from the RiderDown Amsoil Store or go to Amsoil.com place an order and use reference number 1688647 when checking out. Using that number will give RiderDown.org the credit for your purchases.

If you have any questions regarding Amsoil’s products, applications, partner products or want information on how to save 15-25% on your Amsoil purchases while still supporting RiderDown please contact me at dirtbikindad@aol.com put RiderDown Amsoil in the subject line of your email or call me at 805-231-8344.

Please do not call or email any of the RiderDown Foundation staff as it more important they tend to the needs of our downed riders. For Amsoil Dealer business opportunities please contact me at the above contact information.

Thank you for your continued support of The RiderDown Foundation - Helping Riders Up!!! :thumb

This is a great program and an excellent opportunity for all of us, really a Win/Win/Win scenario. Dane, Amy and I have been working on making this a reality for RDF for the past couple of years now and we have finally been able to make it happen. Dane is really a wealth of knowledge when it comes to lubricants and the other products offered by Amsoil and can really help you sort through any questions you might have regarding your specific needs or applications.

As always...thanks for helping RDF help other riders in their time of need!:thumb

Thanks for your help in putting this together Dane. I had emailed Amsoil about this a few months ago and they had said in a reply they wanted to help RDF. I had notified Bruce at the time it looks like it all came together...thats fantastic! Its great to see our efforts materializing.

Thank you again!

Actually Joel this was a separate effort from our discussion of getting more "sponsors" for RDF. It's all good though!

Sounds like its the same sort of deal we had talked about thats why I thought it may have been all part of the same effort...Let me know if you need me to do any more on my communication with Amsoil then.

Best regards,
Joel

Dane - what's your recommendation as to which Amsoil product to use in the KTM525? I've been using the Silkolene Semi-Synthetic recently.

Product code MCF its 10W-40 formulated for our dirtbikes specifically. That is what all of our dez dawgs use here in that land of IOU's, Callyforna. Where you too could go hungry or have to drop out of college because our lawmakers are stupid and can't agree on anything! :yikes

Its good for the both sides in KTM & Honda. It carries a viscosity rating of 60 wgt oil. Its good stuff maynard! :lmao:thumb

Somebody has questions and isn't asking them. I know that everbody has to change the oil in their vehicle and why not support RDF by buying that oil through RiderDown.

I can show you how to actually save money on your maintanence costs using Amsoil. In these tough economic times we need to save every penny we can. Why not save yourself some money and benefit RDF at the same time.

Ask me how.

OK, Dane. I'm ready for some recommendations.

This week, I'm picking up my new scoot. 2009 KTM 300xc. I need your recommendations for pre-mix and trans. oil. But what do you think about break-in vs. post-break-in. Dino oil for break-in and then full-syn. after that?

Here is my recomendation. I am a little old school in my thought process for break in. I will also tell you this I contradict myself in that I put a new top end in over the holidays and used Amsoil for break in. I would like to qualify that statment by saying that my barrel is well broken in so I am only seating the rings at this point. I have had many oil industry engineers tell me that its not a problem changing right away to synthetic but here is what I have come up with through my research.

Breaking in a brand new bike I would do 3 good heat cycles on the first time out. A heat cycle is where you get the oil temp up to full operating temprature then let it cool completely. So ride for no less than 15 minutes no more than 30. Don't rev hard full throttle during this time. Do vary rpms through the range of gears going no higher than 3/4 of the max rpm. Let the bike cool for more than 30 minutes an hour if you have the patience. Then repeat heat cycle 2 more times.

Go home drop the oil and filter replace with a conventional non-synthetic oil for one more time out to completely seat the rings with the barrel. On the second time out ride it like you stole it! Don't hold back on anything, max rpm is ok just ride it like you normally ride.

Then change the oil and filter again and replace with Amsoil 10W-40 Motor cycle oil part number MCF. It comes in quarts & gallons.

If your breaking in a 2 stroke bike use the MFG recommended mix oil for that break in period of the two rides. Try to run 5 gallons of mixed gas in those two rides. Then switch to Amsoil Dominator Racing 2 Stroke oil product number TDR also in quarts & gallons. Its rated for 50:1 mix ratios and the extremely high rpms of racing motors so it will be great for your bike. These two oils are what the majority of my desert racing customers & sponsored riders use in all brands of bikes, KTM, Hondas both sides of the cases. Yamaha, Suz & Kawasaki and yes even the KX450F. I am not sure where this rumor comes from that the clutch will slip with use of synthetic oil in the KX450F but its false.

I hope this helps.

Amsoil Annouces price reduction on oils. Amsoil has reduced the price of its line of oils and fluids approx 1.30 per gallon. The raw materials market has stabilized and so Amsoil has reduced the pricing on its products.

For pricing info please contact me thru pm or email. Support RiderDown by buying your oils from the RDF Amsoil Store
