The annual Terlingua Dual Sport ride has been happening for the last 12 years in the desert mountains of West Texas.
Annual attendance is usually upwards of 150 riders and a great time is had by all.
Burl Hughes, with the Houston Trail Riders, started the event and before his death a couple of years ago he made sure we would continue to make it happen in the "Burl" style and spirit.

Burl created such a great event that it has needed few changes over the years.

One change he did approve of was the annual donation the event makes to the Rider Down Foundation in memory of Steve Smith Jr, "minirocketman".

Steve Jr made the ride many times and had a true love for the desert. His spirit rides with us all in this the most remote area of Texas.

Burl's son Colin was a fixture at the event for many years also, helping his dad with the management and always there to lend a helping hand.

Now it's time for us to give back to the Hughes family.

Colin's 13 year old son, Garrett, has Lymphoma and the family needs help with medical costs.

Trail Riders of Houston has organized a benefit Dual Sport Ride to help the family and I've copied the flyer below.

All the info is there, please check it out and if possible come join us or make a donation.

I'll post more info on Garrett's condition as it becomes available.
