Aaron was injured on Sept 20, 2008 in a motocross race in Berthoud CO; he suffered a severed spinal cord and spent the last 2 months in recovery at Craig Hospital in Denver Co. Aaron's faith, attitude and strong will has helped him recover at a remarkable speed and although he cannot walk he has the ability to do most everything for himself, it just takes longer.
Aaron left Craig Hospital in record time less than 2 months, he took his first airline flight before Christmas, and is now headed toward Phoenix for the AZ Monster Supercross...what a trooper (He also was able to drive before he left the hospital)
We can't thank Rider Down enough for the encouragement and support they have given us and the support of Aaron's friends is unreal. As his Mother, it has been particularly hard to go through this with him and although I am still coping, I am coping well with his attitude I can't help but be okay. You will see Aaron at future races as a spectator for now, he is a remarkable young man and I thank all of you riders for your love and for being his family...Rose Kocherer
