Austin is a rider from NC that sustained several bone and ligament injuries in a hard crash. Along with his own recovery, there are some other serious health issues in his family right now.

Please wish him well:fiddy:

Hey this Austin Moreau. I suffered a perilunate dislocation in my right wrist from a hard impact on the handle bars. I also fractured the end of my forearm bone. My lunate bone was severly out of place and the ligaments were torn off. I had my accident on a saturday night. Monday I saw the first doctor and tuesday I meet with the surgeon and scheduled the surgery. Wednessday my mom had surgery for breast cancer. Then on thursday I had my surgery. It was a really hard week on my family. My mom ended up having to have another surgery that was much more serious than the first one. Two weeks after that I had another surgery to remove the pins in my wrist. I worked really hard through therapy and got a lot more range of motion back than my doctor expected. I now have enough range of motion to twist my dirt bike to full throttle:fiddy:. I was released by my doctor on November 14th and I am able to ride and work with very little to no pain. My mom is almost half way through kemo and she is doing so well.

It has been really hard on my family these past couple months. God has held us together and is pulling us along. He has really taken care of us. My dad has an automotive body shop and a service shop. I couldn't work and dad was taking care of us so we virtually shut our shops down. Ever since I started therapy we have had plenty of work to take in, and it is still coming. God has really taken care of our family.

Austin Moreau. Thanks to everyone at rider down

Austin - it's good to hear from you and about the progress you have made. I'm very sorry to hear about your Mom and of all the difficulties you & your family have had to face. Your Dad has certainly had his hands full and I'm sure deserves a break! My family has also been affected by Cancer with my sister having Breast Cancer and my Dad having Kidney Cancer 9 years ago and recently being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. It can be a very stressful time for sure, the good news being that the treatment and outcomes have improved considerably from what they used to be. My thoughts and prayers will be with your Mom and the rest of the family.

It's certainly a blessing that the work is coming in given this economy. Stay busy and keep up with the PT! Be careful twisting that throttle wide open! :roost:
