Aaron Hill is a Colorado pro rider who was injured on September 20, 2008 while participating in a hare scramble. Arron had a bad spill, which left him paralyzed from the chest down. He had no other injuries in the accident, and remained awake and lucid throughout.
Aaron is heading to rehabilitation and is expected to be there for 2 - 4 months. He's already piloting his own wheelchair, which is incredible!
Our thoughts are with you, Aaron!!!

I met Aaron's parents this past Saturday at the Endurocross event here in Denver. They were selling raffle tickets for a YZ250 to raise money for Aaron. Good people who happen to own the track up in Berthoud, CO which in a roundabout way is responsible for my involvement with RDF. It was at this track during a Hare Scramble back in 2000 that I crashed and busted myself up pretty good. Recovering from my injuries (busted femur/hip, rotated pelvis, blah, blah) gave me a lot of time to think about what people go through and how to make ends meet. The idea for a national organization like we have today didn't come to me right then but rather rolled around in the back of my mind for several years. That was a heck of a race!
We're all pulling for you Aaron, I'm glad that you are getting into Craig Rehab. Please let us know how you're doing.
