A brief story of what happened to Shawn.

He was coming back to his toy hauler and ran head on into a kids track berm.
"In the desert kids make their own tracks close to where they park and over time the berms build up to 3 to 5 feet" he flipped over and took a really bad hit.

He has a broken ankle, 4 broken ribs, punctured lung, damaged spleen, and bruised brain. They operated on his ankle, but they are having alot of trouble with his lungs as pneumonia has set in and he is having trouble with that. As you can imagine, pneumonia is not what you want with lung damage, so this is very serious!

I will post more when I get a better update!

Shawn - get well quick! I know how nasty those kid's track berms are...:yikes Recently had a chance to ride out at Stoddard Wells in CA with Walker and I almost had the same kind of get off from one of those things. Riding along, minding my own business, perfectly flat desert type area and WHAM! Watch out!

Hello All, I had the opportunity to go visit Shawn and deliver a few little gifts and some RiderDown financial support that our generous donors from across the nation gave to help injured riders, and the local donors from Shawns District 38 area, The Road Runners MC club and IV Racing! Shawn and his Family THANKS YOU!

Shawn was in good spirits and cant wait to get back home to his family, but before he can do so, he will have a little more healing to do! He is currently still in the ICU and looks to get out of there and into a normal room in a day or two. When I was there today, Shawn us unable to speak with me due to the tracheotomy tube that helps Shawn's lungs, but 30 min after I left, his Wife Deloris called me and said the Dr. had just removed it and Shawn could speak and will now probably never stop!! THATS AWESOME!! Look for Shawn to be back out in the Desert in a few weeks and please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!! They have worked so far!!

A photo of Shawn and his Wife "Deloris" and me.. Saying Thank YOU!!
Keep up the good work Shawn!!

Great pic, thanks Les. Heal up quick Shawn.

"Rim Benders" are what we used to call those mini tracks - you have no idea how many times I've come across those and bent my wheels.
