This information is about a friend of mine who was just diagnosed with leukemia. From the speed that his doctors are moving, I believe this to be very, very serious.
Jeff Pritchard is a long time supporter and friend of many. Sadly Jeff has been diagnosed with leukemia and needs our help. Coming soon will be some info on a blood drive to be held at Town and Country Cycle in NJ. Jeff is going to need many blood transfusion and also a bone marrow donation. Currently he is at Morristown hospital and I don't have to much info at this point but any physical and verbal support you can give would be great and I'm sure would be well appreciated.
From what I understand you have to be an exact match with bone marrow, but its always worth getting tested.
Pheresis donation is also a huge help to leukemia patients. Pheresis (platelets) can be donated every two weeks where whole blood is every 6 - 8 weeks. You are hooked up to a machine for anywhere between and hour and a half to two hours. The blood is pulled, goes through a machine that separates out the platelets and re-infuses the blood again. Its not painful and you get to enjoy a movie while you donate.
Please do send through his info. I have a pheresis appointment next Saturday and would love to donate for him. Every little bit helps.
This is a really great guy and any support from letters, cards, etc would surely go a long way to support him.
