Off Road Riders, finally someones got your back!

Evergreen, Colorado, September 2005- There is a new kid in town and it is an organization that has come to the aid of the off road motorcyclist in a big way. Called appropriately, the RiderDown Foundation, the organization was founded by a group of businessmen from across the country, who just happen to be avid off road motorcycle riders themselves. All too often they have seen or read about fellow riders getting hurt and the stories of the additional trauma their families have to endure when trying to provide support for their loved ones. "After a traumatic injury occurs, people can get overwhelmed with the seemingly never ending barrage of medical bills and related expenses that can result. It's understandable that their main focus is on the child/rider, but the snowball effect of these expenses is just devastating to the family. Finally, there is a place for people seeking help in managing the recovery process." says Bruce Vermeulen, President of the non-profit group.

"The really exciting thing about all this", says Mr. Vermeulen, "is the amount of support that has come from within the motorcycle industry, they have been very quick to get on board for this tremendously worthy cause."

RiderDown has created a comprehensive web site that can be accessed to help you get the proper advice and information needed when faced with injuries and the challenges that the family may face when trying to provide the best care and support for their loved one.

The RiderDown Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping off road motorcyclists who have been injured while riding. Proceeds are used to provide assistance to the riders and their families when faced with medical expenses and related issues. To learn more about the RiderDown Foundation and how you can help, contact them at info@riderdown.org or visit their web site at www.riderdown.org.

Im glad to see that someone is doing something to help. Normally people have that "I told you so approach" to motorcyclist when they are injured. I am a college football player, and I often visit the childrens hospital. On my last visit there was a young man who damaged his knee and had a pin through it which I could see coming out. At first I was scared for him but after hanging out wiith him I knew he would be alright. Im glad to see that now there is someone atleast making an effort to help these guys out.

toobig,

Welcome and thanks for joining us at our new Riderdown Forum.

We are trying to do what we can but will need a lot of help from people like yourself to help spread the word anytime you have the opportunity, to Riders for sure but most importantly the companies we patronize.

If your buying parts at Rocky Mountain MC, Chapparal or wherever even your local shop, tell them or write them a note that they should check us out and get involved. After all it's us riders that have created these wonderful businesses in the MC industries. Even the pro's wouldn't have the contracts they have today if we weren't purchasing these products and bikes. It is a great sport but it does have its inherent dangers and it's about time we get help from the people and companies that are profiting by it.

We also need to educate more riders to riding safety and behaving responsibly. There is a lot of work ahead of us all and we'd appreciate any and all help and ideas.

Good riding and be safe,

Joe

Geez - this seems like ancient history!! Where does the time go? It's hard to believe that we've only been at this for 4 years. RiderDown has seen tremendous growth and through the help of the riding community has been able to assist well over 100 riders and riding families. :thumb

Thank you to everyone who has gotten involved and worked to make this happen!!
