ok, so i've been looking throught the forums a few times but have not been able to find anyone that seems to have the same problems i'm having. so here's the story....

i'm from altoona, pa and at the time had a xr100 bike....

on july 4th 2006, i took "one last ride" before leaving the woods...well, that turned out to be a very bad idea after all. I hit a bump wrong and was pushed up off the seat, while i was coming down i hit another bump causing the bike to come up, throw me off....n drag me a good three yards across the ground. the engine hit my knee and is what drug me. when i tried to straighten my leg, it wouldnt...it was stuck bent. went to the hospital where they informed me i needed surgery and that i had fractured my tibial plateau, cracked it in half. well, a week later i finally got in for the surgery, the put in a metal plate n screws, and i couldn't do anything for almost 6 months straight.

i started physical therapy, where it seemed to be going well but the muscle that comes from the knee up the front of the thigh over towards the hip is not working properly. there is an indention right above my knee where a muscle should b level with the other muscles, but because i lost my medical assistance and could no longer afford the bills for therapy and doctor bills i was unable to continue trying to figure out what to do to get that muscle working.

i have tried home exercises to try to build the muscle but nothing seems to be helping. also, because i cannot afford to see a doctor do to lack of insurance and the inability to work, i cannot get any medical assistance help without the form filled out by a dr stating i need the help...

so, i have been having pain, partial numbness, and unable to walk without throwing my leg with the occational falling do the my leg jus giving out. now if i wear my brace i can walk with minimal trouble but still have constant pain

All i am looking for is some suggestions on anything i can do at home to try and ease the pain and discomfort as well as the inability to completly use my leg. thanks for reading and any comments will be appriciated.

haven't been able to get a more recent xray than those and its been almost 2 years now since the first xray and about 1 1/2 years since the second.

tried going to the hospital a few weeks ago to see if they could find anything wrong. well, the dr there moved my knee cap around and said i had a sprained knee...where an ace wrap for 10 days n take anti-inflamatory pills...well, that didnt' work...he refused to give me an xray, when i asked about the screws maybe coming lose or something shifting do to the muscle not working properly he said, and i quote..."NO, they don't do that ever" ....so im kinda at a stand still right now....:(

The knee requires arthroscopic surgery and a removal of the hardware.
